So we are pretty excited here. My husband, our oldest son and a friend drove down to Florida Sunday and returned home from Barb Preiss's last night. Good thing too as it has been snowing all day and getting deep. Not sure what the Florida girls thought of all the "white sand" as the late Wayne Preiss used to call it!! We left them in the barn all day except to go out for a short walk.
They are from left to right- Patriana de Britt, Coral's Maria de Vez, and Gloriana de Vez. Pictures are a little snowy..

We have three full sisters to Gloriana so it will be fun to have her also. She looks a lot like two of her sisters, especially Corals Kristina de Vez

Trudy, I think I love Maria...she's gorgeous!

Boy, you'd better keep them blanketed and lots of warm oats! Those poor Florida girls are going to shiver up a storm!

Pretty girls!

Carol ,
Maria is such a fine mare. She has carried my grandson all over the place and the forest. She was also ridden about fifty mile per weekend by a friend with bad knees. She has had three of some of my nicest offspring.
Glorianna rode me all over the Big Buffalo Ride in Tenn. She was trained for two weeks in the spring, and in Oct. I rode her in the mountains of Tenn. She was as agile and perfect as she could be. She went straight up those mountains and never bumped my knees on the trees. When we got to the bottom of the mountain, we had to jump about a 4 and a hlf ft. stream. I hate jumping but she made it. When we got to the meadow, the cowboys decided to open up across the meadow. I said to her, Glory, this is where we see if you can run. She passed those quarters as if they were standing still. I was coming up on the thorobred and the woman said not to pass on Shenanigan's left. Glory was pulled up and we passed that thorobred on the right. At the beginning of the ride , it was discovered there were two pasos and a Peruvian within the bunch of 400 horses.
I haven't been back for around 12 to 15 years but Marge McFarland that has not missed a single year says they always ask about me and that paso. Barb Preiss

Oh Barb, I believe it. She just has that 'look' about her. What a sweet wonderful horse! And soooo pretty! Trudy, you got an angel there! Lucky you!

You know, I have this problem...I want so MANY horses. I'd love this girl AND Tami's red dun pinto colt AND Carol's red dun AND Lynn's dun filly AND that 4th of July filly of Stella's!.

Gosh :( Not fair I can't have ALL of them.

Gee Carol, I can't relate at all!
You might need help with that addiction. You want my therapist's number?
Hmmmm, I wonder if I put all the tack in the house if I can cram another horse in the far corner of the barn. There is that pretty buckskin filly at Featherhill. Erin will help me make room, she is my sponsor.

There must be something about Buckskins that catch the eye. I often get calls asking about buckskins. Early in 2004 we were at Barb Preiss's place and her mare Melodia had a filly that I fell in love with. This is a picture of Melodia de Vez and that filly who had just been born.

We were lucky enough to have purchased Melodia's daughter Melodita de Vez

And then were very lucky to have gotten these two daughters from her and Corals John Henry de Vez
Of course Melita had to shut her eyes as I snapped the picture yesterday.

And then this is the youngest, Zoi before the snow came

How can you help but love them!! And feel blessed to have them...

This is another little buckskin who caught everyones eye. Long mane and a sweet attitude unless you were another horse. Of course Rosita de Vez did believe that she wasn't made for riding. She was even picky about what barn she was stalled in..This picture was taken about three years ago when our grandson turned one year old. (And yes his dad is standing ready to grab him!) and then with her new owner. She left for awhile to be boarded at another barn but was so unhappy that she was brought back here and lives here now although we don't own her but still love her..

Rosita de Vez's sire is Coral de Vez known as "little Coral" and owned by Diane Collins, Barb Preiss daughter.

I like the buttshot pic. The Palomino on the end really stands out . Cute pic. I wish I can get my two horses organized, walking with them can get tricky sometimes
