Hi!
I am happy to find this friendly "newbie" forum. I am new to Paso Finos, and it has been about 20 years since I have owned a horse of any sort. I am about to become the proud and happy owner of two Paso Fino mares.
I live in the Santa Ynez Valley, CA - serious horse country. But there are no Paso Fino farms, and I don't even know any Paso Fino owners. Thoroughbreds, Arabians, Quarter Horses, Peruvian Pasos, Icelandic horses by the hunderds, no Paso Finos.
My last horse was 1/2 Peruvian Paso, and gaited, and TONS of fun. So I am looking forward to bringing the mares home as soon as the corral is finished.
My "girls" are so sweet. I think that if they could climb up in my lap and sit down, they would. They actually belong to my chiropractor and she can't keep them. She offered to give them to us. We had the vet check today, and they have their problems, but nothing unmanagable.
I have been researching Paso Finos since my chiropractor offered us the horses. She gave me copies of the pedigree papers so I could research those. I was astonished when I did the research, because I found out that the sire of the older mare is Coral LaCE! The other mare is her daughter. "The Girls" have been out to pasture for a few years, so they'll need some work, but I can't wait!
I'll see if I can figure out how to post photos.

Please do post pics!
I like to store my pics at PhotoBucket.com as I find it easy to use.
Under each photo is a selection...1st one is URL, which if you highlight, copy and paste here it will show up as a link to your photo. But, if you use the 3rd selection (I don't know what the 2nd one does), highlight, copy, paste, your photo will show up in your reply here at APFs.com.

We are glad you found us too.
Congratulations on the Coral LaCe offspring. PasoMom has a Coral granddaughter and absolutley wouldn't trade her for the world. Barb P, his owner at the time of his passing frequents this forum and loves to hear about his offspring. ;-)
Let us know if you need help posting pix. We'd love to see your two horses.

I love that there are a bunch of new Paso people now (being one myself) so we can learn so much together.

Hi Lori! Welcome to the BB and the wonderful world of Paso Finos. Your story sounds typical of a lot of PF owners in the west. We seem so isolated from each other only to find out there is a farm a few miles away.
You should probably contact your region even if you don't show. California is a big active region with lots going on including trail rides and clinics. They also have some excellent and humane trainers out there. I went ahead and got the California contact info for you. I know they'd be glad to hear from you and welcome you into the region.

Welcome to the world of Paso Finos. I too bought my 1st Paso after having taken a number of years off from horses (15). I had never heard of Pasos or seen one before. It openned up a whole new world for me and I've met lots and lots of Paso friends. I bet you find some close by too. If not, I might just have to move to warm, sunny Southern Cal. I could make that sacrifice.

I hope this works! :D
If it does, you will be able to see Salamanca Ltd., AKA Sally (Coral LaCE x Ardita), and her daughter Gitana Gracia, AKA Gypsy, (Reyezelo Bravo x Salamanca Ltd.)
They are both sweethearts!

Welcome Lori! I was away from horses for about 15 years also, and then got back into it by buying my first paso 5 years ago. I have a Coral LaCE Gr. daughter and she just had a foal that has Coral thru the sire also. They have the best personalities. The foal did actually try to get in my lap many times! Enjoy your pasos!!

Lori,
I'm in Southern California, too, although way south of you I'm east of San Diego. I would have loved to go to the horse festival, but I'm on foal watch so I've gotta be home.
Welcome to the forum.
