He is very pretty Leila! I think from the look out of his eyes, he thinks he is the leader.

Beautiful coloring and a very alert head. Can't tell from the picture very much, but what do his hooves do, they look a bit like he is towed out in the front.
Overall, I like his look and the confidence that he seems to put out in the pictures. He might be a bit to handle, but if you are like me that would not bother you too much.
I can't wait to hear more about him!!!!

He has a nice head though his neck appears short and thick. I suspect his throatlatch is probably thick, which would hinder his ability to flex at the poll and be able to breathe easily.
His shoulder and front pasterns also appear upright, which would hinder his ability to stride out and absorb concussion. I would expect him to be short and choppy in gait.
He has a deep chest, though not very well defined withers. His back looks strong and short and ties into his rump nicely, with his rump able to carry adequate muscle for impulsion. He seems to have a nice "triangle", this is what I call the area between the point of hip to point of buttockk, to stifle and back to point of hip. If all sides are equal, a horse is able to carry maximum muscle, if one side is short they cannot carry as much muscle.
His back legs seem set too far behind him and his gaskin appears weak. This could change with fitness. He is also sort of "tube" shaped, with his body being the same depth from ribcage to flank, fitness could improve this, too.
Overall, he is much heavier in his front 1/3rd than his middle and back 1/3rds. I do not think he looks very balanced.
I would like to say, conformation helps a horse do their job...but it is the spark inside that makes them happy and willing. If they don't have the "want to", they ain't going to, even if they are built for it.
He looks sweet.

Leila - that bottom photo says it does not matter if my socks are not even, and my mane and tail are not snowy white, not to mind that I'm a little chuncky and I've been groomed to death - I LOVE YOU - come play with me!
;-)
I will stick my neck out and say that if he does not naturally gait you will have to work hard for he is a heavy build.
Pretty guy.

So why do you want opinions???
Honestly if the conformation is not flawed in a functional way - cow hocks, sickle hocks, club foot and so on, and he's got good health, good feet, great disposition and a good gait - we don't worry about the rest of it other than for breeding information if it's a mare or stallion.

MG I wanted opinions because there are some here whoknew/know this horse very well. But they had not seen him for quite some time and he has changed a bit. I am proud of him and especially when I got calls and messages asking me "who" he is.
The critiquing doesn't bother me because they may be seeing a flaw the still admit what they see in his inner being in his expression. Does that make sense. And I have Linda York to thank for the way he looks.

My very best horse was a conformational nightmare...but he carried me safely through many miles of smiling trail/pleasure riding for 18 years without a mis-step or any sort of argument. For me, it is what is inside the horse that makes them special... Looks like Renacer has it, too. ...but with much better confo than my Old Guy had!

Wait a minute, I am slow and confused. That IS Blessing or someone that looks like Blessing. OR are you just buying this horse? Could someone please explain to a slow thinker. http://bestsmileys.com/clueless/1.gif
BTW, he is beautiful.

Terri yes that is Blessing also known as Renacer. I deliberatly wanted not to give info up front simply to see who "would" recognize the difference in him :) He is special to me but he has always been so skinny from pacing constantly. I took that pic on sat and i feel in love with the way he looked his stance and the pride in his appearance. I think he looks as nice as some i have seen in magazines
i knew i could never get a nice shot like that if i were in the pasture with him so i took that pic with a zoom lens 2 pastures away. If I were in the same pasture he would have been trying to eat my camera instead.
he may not be registered or perfect but he is mine and critique does not bother me Blessing and I can take it.I listen to a lot of stuff going on on this board some good some bad but i find some good advice frome each person. I may not say alot but i do listen.
Linda York gave me some advice and i took it and this was the results
I am sorry if i led you guys on but lets face it sometimes critques can be brutal unintentially LOL so i wanted to see exactly what might be said and it is nothing personal because i can use it as a learning experience but honestly this picture helps me feel i have truly accomplished something for the breed and that is helping him go from west nile to loved happy and healthy.
Blessing does anything and everything i ask of him no hesitation i had never ridden till i was almost 48 years old and it was blessing. "I" was green not him. It is my understanding he had not been ridden for several years other than kids getting on and him getting them off. So for whoever trained him this well and for his gentle kind but spirited personality thanks. :)
You guys have the registered ones but i will continue to love the breed more and more and want to promote the good in the breed even more.

Also the statement I was going to bring him home was the simple truth. The pasture the pic was taken in was my neighbors. ;) So yes I was going to bring him home to his stall at feeding time. So no dishonesty there. I was hoping you would ALL recognize Blessing/Renacer since you had only seen his pics in the beginning and the avatar. Was hoping you could see the difference in him. I am only an ametuer photographer LOL but you can ask anyone i have ever been around i do snap pics all the time. I love it. Not as nice as Diane Wolhart but I am happy with it. LOL

Oh, Liela, I DO know how much Blessing means to you!!! And you are truly blessed to have him and he you. I think he is simply stunning. Registration means nothing! I have seen some rather unremarkable horses with remarkable papers. Blessing wears his pedigree!his gentle kind but spirited personality thanks. :) That is worth more than any fancy registrations papers. Congratulations, you've done a great job!
