Boyd, I missed that...y'all were playing in the water while I was still up on the hill (see distant lake view photo). Actually my saddle pad had slipped almost all the way out from behind the saddle and I was making tack adjustments... so why I got the distant shot. Just say that was the fast group way ahead playing in the water. ;-)

I always love the 'between the horses ears' pics. I recently read a story about a photographer who also was an avid trailrider.... I think the title was "the view between my horse's ears". Maybe in one of the Chicken Soup books??
Anyway, great pictures, Lynn. Thanks for sharing - looks like a wonderful day!

I had such a great time last weekend I had to make a post. Our 5 and 1/2 hour trip over to Sand Hills turned into 7 and 1/2 hours, and yes we barely backed in the campsite before the bottom fell out. Saturday was gorgeous though! I put the red ribbon on Domino's tail because she had exhibited behavior on a previous trail ride and at a fun show to kick out at another horse. Fortunately, Domino was on her best behavior and we had no incidents other than a big briar getting caught on her tail by the red ribbon! The trails were great for gaited horses and we did a lot of that. The water crossing was especially fun! Thanks to Boyd and Lynn for all the pictures.
The clinics were great and very informative. I have a lot more useful information now when I get ready for a new saddle. Two of the clinics had good information about saddle fittings. Tiva and Domino also received good reports from the Equine Physiotherapist, Vicky Toporek, as being "sound". It was good to hear that!
The best part was meeting all the people and making friends and contacts to meet up with for future trail rides. I need more time off from work!!
Thanks to all those involved in organizing and sponsoring the weekend. I hope they do it again next year!

Great pics! I really need to get out and ride, but here in MN the trails are not open quite yet. Maybe by the 15th..
