Hi all!
About a year ago my sister and I fell in love with a grulla gelding named Wildwood Contigo. He is our first paso. We have no experience with pasos (or had no experience) but we LOVE this boy. He has so much personality and is just a huge puppy dog. When we show up at the farm we call his name and he yells for us. My sister primarily rides him. She rides him in a wintec adjustable gullet dressage saddle and a rope halter. Purple is his color. ;) He is apparantly fairly tall for a paso at around 15hh. His sire was Paz que Tal and he is related to Hilachas on both sides.
My boy and I just wanted to say hello!
Here are a couple pictures, one from the day we bought him a year ago, and one from a couple weeks ago when we had owned him exactly 1 year.
Also, tomorrow is his birthday! He will be 9.

Terri just sent me your e-mail, we will come see you.
Lise said you were thinking about going to the breed demo?

Terri and I try to ride together every weekend, so we should be able to do it some time soon, I would love to try for next weekend. if that works for everyone.

I think you will be plently surprised how your paso will be happy to ride with other pasos.

he looks nice. I have 3 if you click on my www, below you will see them, ( terri is in them too, she is on the black one second pic.
there are lots of pic's there but you will get the Idea what ones are my pasos.

Can't wait. :) We are thinking about stopping by the breed demo. We'd love to see it.
Next weekend will be difficult. I'm going to Florida Mon-Fri and my sister has a birthday party on Saturday at some point. I will give my mother Terri's email address and possibly we could try to plan something.
It's so nice of you guys to help us out!

Your pasos are adorable and Terri's horse reminds me a little of 'Tigo.

welcome Amanda, I just sent you an email. When you are back from Fla, Erin and I will come visit and introduce you to some more pasos. Will you get a chance to visit some of our Fla paso farms? I am sure people here wil be happy to help you with questions you have regarding gait and how to ride your boy. He looks like one nice horse!

Allthehype.....sooooo, you used to live in Plymouth, eh? Where abouts? I lived in Manomet for most of my life, and now I live in the Morton Park area (downtown)....
Do you have a trailer?

My trip was great, but coming back to the rain was a little depressing. Getting sick within 24 hours of getting home was even moreso.

Contigo is boarded in Wrentham at a little backyard barn, but I live in Franklin. That's exciting that there's another paso close by!

Truestep, I used to live off of Bourne Road in the neighborhood the Ponds at Plymouth. This was a loooong time ago though. I think I was about 9 when I moved and I just turned 20 last Thursday.

Hope everything is going great with everyone else's pasos. I haven't seen Contigo in a little while (between going away, rain, and being sick) but I think my sister got to ride him last week before the rain. It's a pain because we don't have an indoor yet, but hopefully they will be putting one in soon.

I would love to meet you guys and your horses but I'm not sure how to go about it. We don't have a trailer and the barn owner has funky insurance so I'm not sure how we would deal with having your horses over. My mom told me she would love it if you guys could come out one day and visit and maybe just give my sister a few pointers. We're hoping to get a trailer in the near future, the trick is just convincing my dad to get a truck first. Not sure if that'll go over well.

Hi Amanda welcome back! We are going to have to figure a way for all us SE Mass Paso riders to get together. I have a friend with a Paso mare in Sharon, I don't thing that is to far from you. I often go over her house and ride with her, it is about 40 minutes from here. And another BB member, Kelly (?) lives in Franklin, and isn't Borderland state park out that way? Maybe we can meet at Borderland. I know you don't have a trailer, but maybe we can figure that out.
As for learning more about Pasos, while we can certainly help, it might be worth your while to take a lesson or two at Paso Fino Del Fuego in Middleboro. I would be best if you could get your horse there and take a lesson on him. Their webstite is Pasofinodelfuego.com We could certainly meet you there for a trial ride.
What does everybody think?
