It's way too early in the year to already have such bad heat. And no rain in sight. Some days I really don't love Florida!

We had that last week then the last 3 days here have been beautiful, a bit of wind and cool. So Perfect to ride *if* any of ours were old enough lol
Summer took a pause here so we could have a few days of Spring.

we got insta summer this weekend. It is hitting 80 today. That is hot enough for me! The horses are hiding in the barn and we can't get the pool cover off fast enough. My daughter rode her bike down to the pond and jumped in

 Sounds like you need a visit to the beach to cool off!

:question :confused :surrender Last Sunday - we had to cover garden due to a frost advisory - today it is 91 :!:
A nice 70 to 75 would really be nice :roll

See, this is the time of the year that I get to brag.
Ain't never been 100.1 here. Ain't never been 95 here. In 50 years, it's maybe hit 90 twice. 60 to 80 is where we live from May 'til late September, sometimes 'til late October. (And 80 is a warm one.)
It's just a few days in winter when it really sucks 'cuz there is nothing nice about -30 and -40.
Two days ago it was really bad here, it was 105 with a southern breeze... which means that when you go into the shade to try to survive the heat, the wind is warmer than the air you're standing in. It's bad. Today is much better, "only" 101 and a western wind. ;-) It's all relative.

Am right here with ya, Pam...here in Texas...we did have a little rain but with the high temps, everything is dried up again. I did hear one guy say he needs at least three more inches of rain before he cuts hay, but as we head deeper into summer...that's doubtful that we'll get it.
If you all up North wanna make some good money, load up a flatbed full of grass hay and head south...bet you'll unload it before you know it, and make a tidy profit doing so. In fact, I HAVE seen them selling it on the street corners just last week. :(

Driving home from Brooksville today, the temp in my car said 102 degrees. That's rare for us, we're hot, but not normally over 95 or so. If we ever get some rain maybe it will cool down a bit. My pastures are just dying - we haven't seen rain since April 8th.

The place we are adopting out our last 2 wolfdogs is a good 10 hr drive with snow, yeah! Nice to look at and visit and will be nice to stay cool.
I think everyone else got our heat, thanks = )

upset weather, we've been getting rain almost every day for several weeks, been extra cool and wet. it's finally warming up to around normal, hitting 80's now. yeterday we were down to chattanooga area and was it ever hot!!! Dad went N to portland today and said it was very hot there. our hideout in the woods seems to moderate the temps. it gets hot in summer and cold in winter, but it's rare to get over 90, and 10 was the low last winter.

I've lived in Florida more than 25 years and I haven't been in temperatures 100 or above since I arrived. I maybe visited for 20 years before moving here, often in June. I rarely leave the state, so it most not be common or it's unofficial. I have seen it hit 99 a lot, usually just before rainy season.
We went riding on Saturday before heading to Spectrum. The only time I even wondered about getting too hot was at the end while riding in full sun. It made me a bit thirsty, but not very sweaty on the ride. We didn't get back to the trailhead until 11 or so.

Our nice trip to the snow was canceled due to adopter backing out so we get to sit here and enjoy the getting decently hot weather today. I can say I was so SO looking forward to that cool snowy weather.

You must be near the coast Pasofantasy - it is cooler there. A little anyway! I'm actually less than 20 miles from the coast but we get many 100+ days every year. Fortunately, all my pastures have shade. I feel really sorry for the horses around here that don't have at least a tree and there are plenty of them that don't.
Jane, your part of the world sounds just lovely today!

Pam M~I live in Ocala, so I'm an hour from the coast. This week's forcast is for upper 80's and low 90's only. I always look forward to June and rainy season, my favorite.
