What started out as a boring holiday weekend suddenly changed with the arrival of the luna moth I found outside my window. I decided that if something like it could have been lurking around outside my house for the last 40 yrs and I wasnt even aware of its existence.. that maybe my hubbys bigfoot story wasnt so farfetched afterall. I decided to grab my camera and go for a walk.

I need to introduce you to our tour guides for the walk around the farm...

3 strays that hit the dog jackpot...

First let me start off by saying that my whole farm used to look like this...

But that is before my hubby came along with his farmall tractor and bushhog and cleared it up...

Ok.. so now lets head out to the back field and woods and see if we can spot anything...

If I were a luna moth.. I would much rather hang out here than on a screen at my kitchen window..

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y175/Jasfino/farm%20pics/walk011.jpg

Oh well.. nothing hidden here.. that I can find today..

That was probably the oldest tree on the whole place.. I often wonder who sat beneath it in days gone by.. and what it could tell me about whats happened here in the past..

Now back home.. past the pond..

and the field we cleared... for our horse pasture someday...

In the end.. I found nothing out of the ordinary.. But looking back at these pics.. makes me proud to live here where I do.. along with whatever else lurks out there :D

very beautiful country..... where is it? Any luna moth I have ever seen has been parked on a screen door. And I love those dogs..... bet they were great companions on your walk.

I am in western Ky. about 30 miles from Ky Lake. The biggest city closest to me would be Nashville TN...150 miles away.

Good deals on farms and land can still be found here but they are getting fewer and far between. We were really lucky to get this place before it was listed in real estate.. or it would have been quickly snatched up as soon as it hit the market for alot more than what we gave. We looked for yrs for the right place, and had about given up on ever having our own farm, until this property became available just down the road from where we lived. Talk about coincidence... ;-)

Here is a pic of our pasture we are fencing now. We started last yr on this fence...still not finished.. but are doing it a little at a time.

We are getting a little better at making the fence straight..as time goes by...

Gorgeous. And so lush and green!

No alligators in Tennessee? You could go skinny dipping (in my case, "chunky dunking" *grin*) in the pond?

I dont know about TN... but none have been spotted here in KY.

However, one of the latest victims of the alligator attacks in Florida was from a small town down the road from here.. Paris TN.

Beautiful pictures!! You are very lucky to live there. We got our place for WAY below value quite a few years ago. It had been abandoned for 5 months and was in need of TLC. Now it is worth 4X what we paid 7 years ago. We still have a few things to do, but it's certainly worth it.

Thanks for sharing!!
