We had a fun show yesterday in Denver, Colorado. It was a wonderful opportunity to show a young horse or a nervous rider the show environment in a very relaxed fashion. There were Tennessee Walkers, as well as Rockies, a Peruvian, and, of course, Paso Finos.
Carol Kuiper did a great job as the show secretary. She has done this job now for the past 4 to 5 years or so. I don't know where she finds the energy???!! I didn't take any horses as I don't like hauling horses by myself anymore, though I wished I had. But it was nice watching all the beautiful horses...and meeting new and "old" friends.
There were also some interesting classes, like "free style reining"....8 horses competed, up to 5 minutes each, with beautiful music. "Best Gaited Horse", where the horse was judged by switching riders 3 or 4 times, and....a fun class which had some interesting rules and brought lots of laughter from everyone....

The fun class was.... " to determine how bouncy the horse ride was" by using bras and balloons filled with water....worn by all riders.... and I did not have my camera with me...

Thank you Helene for your kind words. I could not have done the show without your help and that of others in our area. The fun class that Helene is talking about was listed without rules with the note that it would help husbands understand their wives. We were going to limit it to all men, but several young girls wanted to ride so we let them. Even my husband did not know what was going to happen. We then had Suzie Tiller make lots of funny comments from the announcers booth. The class lasted about 20 minutes and everyone was given a prize for being a good sport.

OMG! I am sitting her grinning from ear-to-ear! I bet that was a laugh-fest and I would have LOVED to see it! Heck, video would have been much better than pictures!
(still laughing)
