They are some really good prices on the english saddles. Don't pasos require a wide tree?

dont Pasos require a wide tree?
You cant make a generalization like that. All individual horses are going to have different requirements.Just like all women are not a size 8. From reading your posts earlier it sounds like you are trying to find one saddle that will fit many different horses. And many of them are Stella's horses.Maybe SHE should be the one to help you pick as she probably knows which horses you ride most and what they might take..
A forward seat saddle like a jump or all purpose english has a greater chance of interferring with a gaited horse's shoulder movement. I would go by what has been recommended to you in your other post.If you are going to go with english style stick with a dressage cut.If you do decide to show in a PFHA show in the future you can use it.The forward seat you cannot unless it is in a class requiring a jump. (I think)

PH..those look like some very cheaply made saddles. I found that QH trees don't fit Paso very well... I actually ended up trading my custom made western with QH bars, for a gaited horse (shoulder relief) western saddle. Thats when I got into the Tenessean saddles with the counter-spread wither. Be aware that western saddles with big, square, flat skirts, like the ones pictured...may be too long for the back of a Paso and interferes with the hip of the horse. You may want to look for rounded skirts, for better fit...all my westerns are round-skirted, because of that problem. When you get a 16" seat...or larger, you pick up more length on a square skirt.

Abejita, I've sent her a PM already  But hers is busy!
Terry, I think I'm going to stick with a dressage saddle and not even bother with the western.
So what about that Synthetic Dressage Saddle?
<snip> Don't pasos require a wide tree?
Not my pasos, a narrow tree fit them both really well. Then Michico has very high withers too so it's difficult to find a saddle that fits good. Strangely enough though, my western saddle with QH bars works for Michico if I have a thick wool pad under it. No pressure points and he's happy as a clam. I doubt it would work on Miss Dina though, she has such a short back...
