Hunter my tiny little teacup poodle is finally going to see my other two Galahad and Kokomo. Without going into great detail he fell yesterday hit his head and seized. Took him to vet they said he stopped breathing twice but his heart never stopped even once. They decided he could come home with me rather than be at the office alone during the night. Once again he stopped breathing at home , his heart never stopped. We rushed him to after hours. They said they were shocked he again stopped breathing but his heart never stopped. WE picked him up in am and he stayed at vets all day. They called said he was stable and it would take some time for him to heal. Keep him quiet. The doctor was overwhelmed with his fight for life. Brought him home called Uf they made appointment for 9 am. He stopped breathing several more times but his heart just kept on beating. I held him in my arms and told him I loved him very much and he had brought us great happiness. He followed me EVERYWHERE I went in the house or the yard. We took him to the square dance convention over the weekend.

anyway I held him in my arms and told him i knew he was tired and if he wanted to go on to see Galahad and Kokomo I understood. He seemed to understand but there was something still there then I realized he needed to say goodbye to Ellis who was outside with our nephew trying to get a roof on our home. We went out side Ellis came over and talked to him he looked at us both together and shook himself like he did when he was content. We walked around the yard fresh air wrapped in a warm blanket he was at peace and died in my arms peacefully.

that is the shortest explanation i can give.

It was a tough fight, but he died at home with the people who loved him - you made the best of the inevitable for him....

Oh I am so sorry. What a sad accident. Glad indeed he left with those he loved around him and some to meet him at the rainbow bridge.

It's a strange equation life has given us. Animals touch our lives so profoundly and never quite stay long enough. I've often debated over the years if the heartbreak is worth it.....and each time I decide......absolutely.

Still, it never gets easy.

Sending you a big hug.

Leila & Ellis

There are no words that I could say to make your loss any easier. Both Grace and I know how well you took care of Hunter. It was always enjoyable to watch that little fella wander around our yard with Ellis by his side. Even Moose liked him as you well know.

I know how I felt when we lost Punkin after having her for 18 years and all I can say is that maybe now Hunter is not in pain anymore and has gone to a better place. It always seemed he would do all he could to please those around him.

Our prayers are with you both in a speedy recovery from the grief of losing him.

Bob & Grace
