Sorry guys - camera battery died and computer went down yesterday... didn't mean to keep you hangin'!
Ah Shelley - you rat..... They would have never guessed! - A homozygous tobiano pinto supposably "mahogany bay" paso fino mare (13.1- 13.2 and build like a walking tank) or as my Father would say "One axe handle high and 3 wide!" bred to "HERBIE" - the 18.1 hand, over a ton, 32-33 inch collar, Perchron stallion.... and yes, he was a stud in a jug! (and a note to those with your mouth open and cussing me - the vets checked this little mare long before ever breeding and her pelvis was wide enough to deliver a Sherman tank - they said she would have NO problems - and she had a PERFECT unassisted delivery). DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS without a full mare exam and an OK from at least 2 unrelated vets!
Produced: Morning Star's "Too Darn Cute" - the most beautiful DUN pinto filly.... and until I can get a new camera battery all I can say is "What a warmblood!" Each time I look at the baby, I'm still in awe. I have to admit that I NEVER thought the foal would look like this. I'm not one to go Goo-Goo over newborn anythings (they all grow up ugly, including ME!) but I love this one so much that this mare has a date with "Herbie in a jug" next week!

And Shelley - hopefully you win a set of papers on Diosa (the non-draft pony)... Ky should be getting or should have a big package by now! Saying my prayers!

From length of front cannon bone - my guess is that she will mature in the 16 hand range. And so far, I have seen a walk, trot, lateral gait, and BUCK! No canter or lope yet.... She is super sweet, comes to everyone, even though mom hates it, picks up all four feet, and today will have her first halter on!
So tell me - is she going to be a BAY with a dorsal or a DUN with a dorsal????

What a cutie! Looks like she will be an awesome color. Interesting that she doesn't look really DRAFT. I've seen many percheron babies and they always have BIG knees and fetlocks! LOL

I'm betting bay with dorsal stripe - that takes a vacation under the white spot for some reason.

Tami, did someone request (pre-order?) such a baby or are you just experimenting with crosses? I'm just wondering about the market...can the foal be registered? :question

Edited to add: I just love the color of that baby, very cute! :D

Barb - I have so many pasos that I can afford to play. No one but myself has ordered this filly. She is not for sale, she is part of my private herd and will be ridden/driven by me (if my daughter does not take her from me!) :D

Ah Shelley - I put the last photo in there just for you! ;-) Check out the length of cannon bone on baby and that of mom.... big difference in size (diameter) of cannon bone also.... just hope mom can keep up with the milk supply!

That was the first thing I noticed. Then I noticed also how not-draft she looks. Very cute. She looks like she will have size, yet be very refined. What a cutie!

I'm not so sure you need to worry about Mom being able to keep up with milk production...I think you may need to construct a lift so this tall baby doesn't have to get on her knees to nurse!
