Ever have one when you feel like you shouldn't have gotten out of bed? This week has been crazy busy at work - 12+ hour days with no breaks. Tonight, I left at 6:30 (I got there at 6:30 a.m.) without taking a lunch or anything, headed for home.

My 87 year old father has to have cataract (spelling?) surgery in one eye tomorrow -which they have placed him at moderate risk because of his CHF. So, that's on my mind, we'll be leaving to take him to the hospital EARLY - he has to be there at 7. Please say a little prayer for him that all goes well. He can't do much, and TV is one of his pleasures, but he can't see with the cataracts.

So, I go out to feed/hay the horses, and walk up between them (they're in the yard grazing). Just as I get to Bianca's front end...some idiot shoots off some fire crackers, both spook, and Bianca comes down full force on the outside of my right foot! YIKES

I don't think it's broken, it's definitely going to be one heck of a bruise though. Of course it's my GOOD foot, broke the other ankle 2.5 years ago and it's full of more metal than...Barbero.

That's all, just feeling sorry for myself and Dad.

Thanks for listening!

what a horrible day - have to admit I hate fire crackers. I think those cataract surgeries are very quick ..... my sister-in-law was in and out.
hope tomorrow goes well.

Hope you both get well really fast. My dad had his done at a very advanced age and he had congestive heart failure from age 70 until he died at 91 after he was knocked down and broke his leg. He had no problems with the surgery and could see fine after. He did have some problems with macular degeneration but not that bad and there is some treatment for it now to prevent it from getting worse.

Ooooowwwwie! That hurts (when they step on you like that)! Emily did it to me and I could have killed her. Darn foot didn't feel right for months ... and it still brown on top!

Fingers crossed for your dad. Hang in there. Things will get better!

Oh, I'm so sorry about your dad! You already had plenty of concerns before this surgery. I hope, that all goes well with his surgery!

Not the good one! You poor thing! I suppose, that it would be disasterous for it to be the bad one though. I hope, that it's okay. We don't want you back in that hospital! I don't even want to step in there again!

Sorry, that you're getting things in multiples now! It's difficult, but I'm sure, that you can endure whatever comes your way. Of course, you have my prayers! Call anytime if you need to get it off your chest!

Hugs to you Deb and will keep all fingers/toes crossed for Dad. I imagine it will go fine - usually does, but yes, there is always a risk.

While he is recouperating you might get him some books on CD, they have them at the library. Then he can listen to good stories.

Sure hope ya'll get better real fast and all goes better. Whenever I have a day like you had I just take a break and mix me some Irish Coffee or a glass of vodka and pepsi and sit down and just watch the horses and play with the cats on the deck until I think of something to do to try to make things better. :D

Anyway you got our best wishes that things get better and tomorrow will be a new start on a great day.

Thank you all! He's home and everything went well. NOW if we can just keep him from bending over for a few days.

Foot is ok - pretty bruised, but I can walk on it!
