Hey Lindsey.
I'm finally getting my pictures from the ride. Your in two of the three. I'll post them as soon as they get here. Tracie said it was fine to post them as long as she gets credit for them. In fact she encouraged it. I think you already have some. Don't you?http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b385/pasogirlz/LostPossee12006.jpg

What do you do with the 6 and 7 year olds ? Show, trail ? Why can't they do endurance? If you like to camp and ride it's a great excuse to do both.

o well the coming 7 yr old is for sale, and he is only 13.2 I am a tad to large to ride him on an endurance type ride, for short trails, we do ok.
the 6 yr old just turned six a few weeks ago, he is my daughters mount the last year. he could do it if I put the miles on him. but I have not had the time to work him enough to get him there. because I was training the other and then will need to start working the 2 yr old.
the 2 yr old is a 3 x Coral laCE, and was breed to be an endurance type horse.

Cathy,
Sorry I haven't answered before, but was at Red Barn last w/e then home a couple of days and then to Jax to a conference. I didn't get any pictures from Lost Possee so would love to see yours. I seem to remember we were supposed to look on a web site or something, weren't we? Completely slipped my mind.
Are you getting some riding in? Are you going to the SEDRA banquet the 24th? I plan to go Saturday AM and spend the day. It sounds like it will be a good time.

How did you do at Red Barn ? Was it a good ride? Any other Pasos?
I've been camping and riding. I have a group of firends from central Florida that camp and ride all summer. We usually meet at the Greenways (Shangrila camp). Most of the trails are full shade and the camp site is too. Don't tell anybody ok! :D
How's the new mare doing? Are you getting any riding time in on her?
I'm going to PR in August. I hope I don't find something I can't live with out. I thought they were holding the PPR Nationals but haven't been able to find any information about it.
I'm not going to the banquet. Looks like you did great last year! Congratulations!
I'll post the pictures as soon as I get them.

We're not far from the Greenway. We just pop by whenever we feel like it in the summer. I know, that my friend and husband are going next week-end. Due to gas prices, they're making me stay home! :(

Cathy,
Haven't been riding Staci yet. Am waiting for one more visit from the farrier and the dentist is coming next week. I just put her in with the herd this week so am giving her plenty of time to adjust to that, also.
Sounds like you are having a nice time camping. I'm sure your horse will be in good shape for the fall rides!
I'd forgotten you are going to PR. Be sure you get some pictures of all those horses. I am envious
Red Barn was hot and dry. Well marked trails and things were nicely organized, especially for a first ride. There was some deep sugar sand in places and it was scorching in the sun, but Pocita handled it easily. I was very pleased with her performance. We placed 17th out of 40 something. Quite a few on both the 25 and the 50 were pulled. It was not an easy ride and I have the utmost respect for the horses and riders who completed, especially the 50s. There was only one other Paso on the ride and she did not complete. Her young rider was just as happy, because she was miserable in the heat. Kind of nice to know the young can't do everything as well as we more mature folks can ;-)
Post the pics when you can and maybe we'll get down to the Greenway one day while you're there. If not, will wait to hear all about the PR trip.

So why do you have to stay home? This is how we rationlize going there to camp for the weekend. If I stay home I'll probably just ride around town burning up the gas I could have used to drive to Shangrila :D See if that works for you. Tell you friends to look for the crazy women who brough a swimming pool to Shangrila.

LindsayCamping with the horses is almost as good as going to an ER. I sure do miss the competition though. I hope I can do a few more next year than I did this year. I'd like to go to FITS next year and do a couple days of rides.
