Took/made this this morning. He's obviously feeling 'normal'....
(no humans were hurt - barely - during the making of this video)

Carol, where was Bella all this time? Hiding?
He sure is a doll. I really enjoyed your video. What a character. Makes me miss having foals this year.

Thank you all, he certainly is a lot of fun - and makes me want to have one EVERY year  LOL
Jan, Bella is in the barn eating breakfast. This little guy could care LESS where mom is, he usually feels he's getting away with something whenever he's out from under Mom's eye. She's gotten better as time has gone on and pretty well accepts his independence. She is quick to react though if she senses any problems. He did this his very first time on his feet...went exploring.
Barb...the reason he flips his hiney around is that he wants it scratched! If you notice in the film I move away from him...that's when he takes off and has a mini-tantrum. You are SUPPOSED to hop to it and scratch and itch whatever he wants. he used to do this and kick, but he (hopefully) knows better now. We haven't had any kicks in two weeks.
He loves his gums rubbed too. Of course you have to be brave enough to put your fingers in his mouth. But, he'll stand there and let you rub clear up along his molars. Kind of funny because I've been giving him probios and he takes the tube himself and all I have to do is aim and squirt.
He's still bad about biting and rearing and has a bad temper. One 'issue' at time around here. LOL

This is the wrong forum for this question, but since you mentioned you want one every year . . . what's Zar's status? Isn't she supposed to be providing next year's entertainment?

Zar came in heat on Monday...we ultrasounded her yesterday, nice 37 mm folicle in her right ovary. Today she had ovulated. :( If we had the semen already it would not be a problem...but the earliest we can get it is Saturday morning. Sooooooo, we missed this cycle. Will try again next time.

That was beautiful. I loved it. I am glad he is feeling better. Looks like you and mom have your hands full with this one. I think I will wait to have another one. Then again it might do him some good to have a playmate. Congradulations. He is beautiful.

Who are you breeding Zar to?
Contratista. I won the breeding in the Great Western Futurity. I'm expecting a Bella Forma Champion from this cross....and already have a name - Zartista. :D

Just watched the video  Girl, you def. have your hands full.
Suggestion, start carrying a crop and when he turns his butt on you, a little wack to get it away. Start doing that now before he gets bigger! He thinks he's the boss!

I don't know...a crop is a little shorter then those legs. Maybe a lounge whip? ;-)
Actually we had to do that his first week. He no longer kicks at us near us. He will kick and show attitude, but out of crop range. Yes, he's going to be a handful - already is to some degree. He's not a colt you turn your back on and I don't let kids or visitors in the pen with him. He's definately not a huggy/kissy baby.

I love the name "Coronado the Bruiser"!! He sounds like a Viking king. A great grown up name for him. Point him at it and he'll plow right through it!!!

A Viking king?? Oh no, don't tell HIM that...he's bad enough as a Spanish Explorer. LOL
I have to admit, I've NEVER seen a baby take shots like he does. "No big deal"...
Thank you all...I think he's 100% again. Now all we have to do is try him with Buddy and see how that goes.
Later!
