Sometimes things work out better than you can imagine at the time. Last winter we sold Isabella (my husband's trail horse) and she was shipped to Germany. We were kept informed on how she was doing and knew she was ok.

A few month's ago I received an email from the nicest lady. She had purchased Isabella and had a few questions about her. We became internet friends and I just wanted to share some pictures she has sent me. Isabella chose Sabine as her soulmate. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Thank you Barb and Lori. They are a perfect match. I've never seen a horse look so content. Isabella was always a sweetheart. We raised her from a foal and it was really hard to let her go, but we had young ones we had to make room. She has a great home now. I am so happy for Isabella and Sabine both.

I have sent the link to Sabine and invited her to browse the forum and join us if she would like. I hope she does.

Jan...that looks like heaven (I want that water crossing!!! ). I can't imagine a nicer looking pair. I have found in my travels and more importantly my sister's travels, that the Germans take incredible care of their animals. Your horse has a great home!

BTW - you bred and raised a beautiful horse. Whatever she becomes later, her foundation will always be yours. Great job.

Thank you everyone.

Carol, the stable where Isabella lives is just beautiful. You can tell they take wonderful care of her. And, thank you for your kind remarks on her foundation. She is one of those that tries very hard to please you. Sabine taught her how to climb on the pedestal in just 3 tries. You can just tell that she trusts her. What a wonderful match.

Moniece, Sabine had 3 beautiful Peruvian Pasos. She lost 2 of them this past year. I believe she said one with DSLD. That's why she decided to look at Paso Finos. Her daughter still has the one. A very handsome boy.

Laura, yes it is nice to be able to communcate with Isabella's new owner. It definately gives you piece of mind.

Welcome Sabine...your stable is beautiful!!! I think the trail course is awesome and the solarium for the winter is just over the top. What beautiful country too. I don't even want to know what it costs to board there.

You'll enjoy the board here. You have a very pretty horse with such a soft expression. I'm sure you'll love your Paso Fino, they are such sweet horses.

It is not so expensive. We live here very countrylike. In Munich or Frankfurt it is many more expensive in a compartible stable. And such stables like luxus-hotels for horses are rare in Germany. The horses who lives here gave many thanks back to their owners.

Welcome Sabine.....you both are so wonderfully colour matched, and also in beauty. I hope you post pictures of your horsey adventures as we all like to hear from different parts of the world......my nephew will be going to the Nationals (?) in Germany...... will you be there?

Terri, I don't find the horse. Isabella find me. It was a lucky chance.

Edurne, no I didn't go to the European Champiochip in Germany. A few years ago we are going with our Peruvian Pasos to such Championchips. We were very succesful with our horses. But now I don't need Championchips any more. I want fun and pleasure with my horses. Nothing else. Just fun. :jumpy

I agree, it is so cool to have some Europeans on the forum. I just love getting all the different perspectives from other places.

What a great looking horse (partial to those Buckskins myself) and great looking relationship between horse and rider.

I guess this is part of the topic for this thread.. Since I was being scammed by someone overseas saying they wanted to buy my horse, how do you ensure the people far away are serious? I would surely let someone overseas buy one from us, but how do you know it's a real deal?

I would say this horse found the home it was meant for and you can clearly see it int he pictures.

Welcome to the board Sabine (beautiful name I might say).

Oh Sabine i'm so glad you came to join our group! Please tell us how you tought Isabella to stand on the potium!Your new paso friend,Moniece

Sabine Busch
06-14-2006, 03:50 PM
Moniece, it was very easy.

I took one foot on the pedestal, then I praise her. In a few minutes she understand that she must stay with one foot on the pedestal and then I paise her very much. So I do this with the other foot and then she is standing with both front feet on the pedestal. Then I make a beak, we do other things.

Next day we do the same, she know what she must do for very much praise. Then I do the same with the both behind feet. It was very easy with her.

It is very important that you do this with a piece of mind and many time. No hectic!!! Let the horse thinking!!! [/img]

Good Morning, Sabine

You should tell everyone the story of how you and Isabella got together. People would find it interesting. Also a little about yourself and family.

Sabine...Willkommen! I am posting in English, so it isn't too impolite. This forum is very educational and I have learned a lot. I looked at the website of your boarding stables and was amazed how reaonable horsekeeping there actually is. I never had horses in Germany and thought it would be astronomical. I haven't lived in Germany since the Euro was introduced.....but it looks comparable and even less than over here. A horseback riding lesson here, for example ...I've paid as much as $55.00 for...
I am originally from Schweinfurt, Germany...now live by Colorado Springs, CO. It is so nice to see pictures....gets me s bit homesick....

Welcome Sabine!
This is a huge family of horses and their soul-mate-humans, we're a lot of fun (sometimes too much fun) and the more the merrier!

Its so heartwarming to hear of such a lovely story and to see how bonded you and Isabella are. This would make a lovely story for the magazine PFHW.

Perhaps we are made for each other. I don’t know. But I know that Isabella is selects me.

Dear Jan and all the other nice people who are writing here!

My english is not very good but i will try to explain a little of my story. I hope you can understand it a bit.

I am 41 years old, married, and I have a doughter. She is 17 years old. We have 3 dogs and now 2 horses.

We have had 3 Peruvian Paso horses, but 2 of them died in the last year. Picasso, he was international German Champion two times, died on tomorrow before one year. He had DSLD. Soltero, he was also international German Champion, died in March this year. He had kidney refuse. I don't know if it is the right word in english?!?! It was a horrible time. I love my horses. Now we had only the 10 years old Peruvian Paso Santorin. He is the horse of my doughter. I would not search a new horse. I was very sad.

After a few weeks I drive to Doris to test paso fino horses. I don't want another Peruvian Paso, because they can have DSLD. I know Doris Sperber since 15 years and she invites me to come. She is importing many horses from USA and Columbia since many years. I don’t want to buy a horse, just look and ride. Doris let me ride many of her horses. Young horses, show horses, pleasure, performance and classic fino horses, and Isabella.

But before I ride her first she is coming to me in a gigantic paddock with many many mares. She is coming to me and follows me like a dog. When I am going to her when she is eating she stops this and follows me. Nobody could understand this. It simply happens. She falls in love with me and I could not do anything against. I fall in love with her. Destiny? What ever? It happens and this is very good!

So I hope you could understand a little from the story.

Sabine

Sabine, WELCOME! Your story brought tears to my eyes. I always love to hear how an animal chooses it's owner. They just somehow know who they are supposed to be with. Keep us updated on you & your family & Isabella's adventures. We love hearing from new paso owners, wherever they are from. It is so interesting to learn how other people in other countries keep & enjoy their horses.

Hello Ed,

you are right. I have ride many years dressage, but also jumping. Since 15 years I love riding with Paso horses. First Peruvians, now Finos.

Shadow Dancer Mako, a nice horse. You can look at him!

Marie and Uli Wendel are the owners of him.

Welcome, Sabine! I helped a young lady from Germany named Katja find a nice little mare here in Texas. The mare's name is Jewel and she's a red Capuchino daughter. I wonder if you will ever cross paths with her. The young lady also had a buckskin Paso Fino gelding which she was selling. Katja invited me to Germany to attend your big Paso Fino festival there...unfortunately, it's a long ways away from Texas!
So sorry to hear about your Peruvians, DSLD can be a very emotionally draining thing to watch your horse go through.
Anyway, it will be fun having you visit the board...take a look at my website below, to see my horses! :D

I just received an email from Sabine and she is in need of your thoughts and prayers.

Isabella coliced Friday and ended up having to have surgery Saturday. There was an abcess on her colon.

This is day 3 and the first 5 days after surgery are the most critical. Sabine said that Issy is receiving very small meals which she is eating well and her gut is working.

Thank you.

Sabine, welcome to our Paso board. And all good thoughts go out to you and your lovely horse. She will be good before you know it. Glad to see someone from overseas.
Our son went to Marburg University for a school year, a few years back. He went as an exchange student. I noticed the farm was in Marburg, same place? He had a great time and we have had 7 exchange students from Hamburg through our high school exchange program. Our other son also spent 3 weeks in Hamburg.
Keep us posted on Isabella.

Isabella is OK. I visit her every day and she is doing well.
Perhaps we can bring her home at the end of the week.
I am soooo happy for my little yellow horse and me.
The clinic team named her little hard yellow horse.

The farm where Isabella lives in Germany is near Marburg. The "Rittergut" is ca. 20 km in the west of Marburg.
Yes, it is the city with University.

Thank you all very much for your sympathy.

Hi, All

Sabine asked that I post and let everyone know that her Isabella is on her way to recovery. She would like to thank you all for your well-wishes during this trying time.

It has been almost 2 months since Issy's surgery and she is doing very well. Last week she was allowed to be hand-walked for a half hour and this week she is being allowed 1/2 day turnout in her paddock.

Soon she and Sabine will start an exercise program to bring her back into shape.

Thanks to the doctors and diligent caretakers. And most of all to Sabine for caring so much.
