Well, I am disappointed.
I hope no one on here drew it, but they just keep getting more and more cartoony. I am sure the colors are pretty...this one I am looking at is on the prize list so is B&W...but this is one of the most disjointed logos yet. The rider almost looks real. The horse looks like a big pinata painted stuffed toy.

I know I wouldn't mind trying to create a logo for the next Ntls.

You know, if they had a CONTEST and awarded a percentage of the T-shirt sales to the artist, they'd probably have a pretty nice compeition.

I do have to stick up for the artist... I dont know who designed it but I know from my experiences sometimes its not always the artist. Sometimes the clients want really strange things. I dont know if thats the case here but I have done some very ugly work that the clients sometimes just LOVE. hahaha

You know, I am almost in tears about this logo. It breaks my heart for this to be a representation of our NATIONAL show. What would the general public see in this? I'm sorry too if anyone on here did this and has to see the critisism.
I would have done one for free...

Looks a bit psychodelic to me......I agree on the artwork - it looks amateur-ish.......There are ways to do 'pop art/op art' and still make it look GOOD.
it looks like Walt Disney threw up on him . . . .

But Cheri...if it had been you and they asked for a logo that had these colors and that design, you KNOW you would have made the horse look good. Sure, it may be psychedelic colors, but the HORSE is the focus and it should LOOK LIKE A PASO FINO. Good grief, the person looks like a person! The horse looks like...what?... It would have been totally possible to make that a beautiful horse in wild colors. Not sure about that hot pink, though.
You know what? It is obvious that PFHA doesn't care what WE think about the logos, tho. We had this discussion about lousy logos for years now, and the logos just get progressively worse. Louder, but worse.

Well guys - we both really like it! It is very tropical looking and reminds us of carousels and the artwork of the Colombian indiginous people. We like the color and the expression of the horse. To quote Ricky Nelson - "You can't please everybody so you gotta please yourself" and so I only hope the artist likes it! I don't think an artist should have to put his/her name on something they don't lilke.

I agree with Linda. I'm not sure who did the logo for the Mile High two years ago, but it was a Paso Fino with a Carib theme. It was beautiful, very colorful, very Caribbean - and still very much a Paso Fino.
Perhaps Terry or someone can scan their's in and post it. It was beautifully done.
The horse on this logo looks like the cut of a cookie or a Christmas Tree ornament. Not particularly original IMO.

You're right - it does looke like a Christmas tree ornament also - but we still like it! ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Well Linda..ya beat me to it!! I just got my nationals program today...and the first thing I thought was YUCK..I'll be real honest and say I just hate it....Another crappy logo that does NOT represent this breed at all....seems to be S.O.P..... in the "2000" years.....
I just do not like graphic type art....when we have a breed so beautiful, that it AT LEAST deserves a "fine likeness" in detailed, fine art.
I know I won't buy any T-shirts with THAT on it.....what a dissapointment...sorta like the "Quarter Horse heads" from a different year...
I'd have done one for FREE too Linda....and it would have looked RECOGNIZEABLE as a Paso Fino...I guarantee!!!!

Hey Barbara - I been ridin'!!! And yes, I'm riding that (gasp!!!) Rackin' mare and loving it. Granddaughter is riding Tia. Been busy at work and busy with horses and riding/camping every spare minute. Don't do much puter time this time of year. Puters are a winter sport for me. No haying yet - My hay is 5 feet tall, all headed out and flopping over from the rain. I need 3 days without rain before we lay it down and it is just not in the forecast. Not to mention the lot is so wet I would get a tractor stuck in it. Got back from Otter Creek this past weekend and going next weekend for Girlie Week. Leaving Wed (June 22) after work. So...are ya coming????

Well . . . um . . . you know, maybe it's not *supposed* to look like a real horse. It looks more like a carousel horse to me. And I know others have said that the rider looks real, but I don't think, other than the absence of psychodelic colors, that he (or maybe she) looks a lot better. He doesn't have a face, and he doesn't seem proportioned quite right. He also doesn't look like he's riding a real, live horse. His hands and feet look like he's riding a carousel horse. And being really picky -- isn't the show suit supposed to have a short jacket?
Pretty pathetic. Now just who was in charge of picking the logo anyway? Certainly not anyone with any kind of marketing or artistic background since anything that unattractive and childish looking won't sell. Maybe we can use the money we would have spent on National's merchandise and have an APF party. We do need to invite whoever designed that thing, since they seem to have the good booze or herbs

You know what it reminds me of? One of those "Painted Ponies" statues you see everywhere.
I do like the marijuana leaf border ! LOL
I'm not crazy about it either, won't be heartbroken to not have a t-shirt!

Yep Deb...it reminded me of a "painted pony" too......except for one thing....the "painted ponies" have realistic horse bodies, and good confo!!

Well, personally I will refrain from comment on the logo.
However, just out of curiousity I asked my 2.5yo boy what he thought of it and he said:
" I yuv it! I yuv dat picture!!!".
Apparently you really can please some of the people some of the time... like the under 5 crowd!

My eight year old daughter liked it too -- but this is a child who asked for a Picaso print for Christmas last year.
Artistically, I can see why the picture has some appeal. However, "appeal" doesn't make it a good representation of the breed. The logo certainly doesn't scream "PASO FINO!"

How about the fact that horse isn't in gait.....looks trocha to me.

I thought it was more pacey? I don't like the picture much either, but to me the worst part is that it doesn't have three feet on the ground...

OK, I'll say I like it too!
It's LOUD!
I like it better then some of the Nationals logo's I can remember.
I'm rather surprised I like it. I was in the printing industry for many years before getting into the real estate industry and I am particular about how ads are laid out. Many in Showtime mag did not appeal to me due to being to loud and having the photo's over-enhanced. But this I like, other then the horse really should be in gait.
I'm neither under 10 or over 60

To pasovicki men wear regular sport coats in the pleasure classes so the coat is OK. I sure wouldn't think this was a representation of a fino horse! ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Too gaudy!
