Def. contact Stella at Great Blazes Farm! Her old stallion, Favorito que tal, had one of the best largos! I believe he was once clocked at 30mph. She is standing two of his sons now, Alado and Pazarro. Pazarro would be the stud for you!

Coral's Alejandro de Vez

won at national level in largo!

He closed the past century by earning the Reserve National Largo Championship at the 1999 Paso Fino Grand National Show, held in Perry, GA, where he competed in his first "in gait" speed competition (Largo Race) against nine other Paso Finos for a distance of one mile. He completed the race in flawless gait for the entire distance with energy to spare. "Al" has been trained and shown to all of these successes by Dianne Preiss Collins of Weirsdale, FL.

big horse, nice attitude!
a real love!

true, this is my geldings dad, I bought him for largo

This 1989 dark Chestnut stallion possesses the size, agility, and heart displayed by his sire, Coral LaCE. His strength and stamina, contrast with the gentle disposition and willing spirit that lives in his blood. Clearly (My Dream) can create the foal of your dreams.

Mi Sueno is proud, elegant, tall, and fast! Look to this guy for your Largo mares.located at

Erin, Coral's Alejandro de Vez won Res. national champion to Serenata , out of a daughter of Coral LaCE. Then I know he won the nationals the next year and Ibelieve he won it again. Was trying to call my daughter and Helen Box that owns him to be sure. I'll correct later to be sure. Barb Preiss

ok, if stratton's mare is coral/hilachas bred, then wouldnt it be better to find a stallion that wasnt coral bred? there are plenty more out there with largo besides the coral horses.

I'd try the Greener Pasture Stallions,Lots to chose from my Mare is by Piloto Sin Par an El Pastor son him she and he both have outstanding largo's Can't go wrong with Sandys horse either if Emi is close in bloodlines go with Bronze a bloodline that has Sundancer Mako,
HEres a link to Robin's there are many other stallions there also like Piloto that are not listed

I think that if you can do so, I would ride the largo horse you want to breed to. We chose Coral's Alejandro de Vez to linebreed our Largo mare to since our Coral LaCE son was her sire. The litmus test would be if you have a ride you want to improve or a disposition to maintain and not sacrifice, the conformation being first ,gait second and disposition equal for serious or extreme riding.

Last year I was able to ride the stallion I chose It was a simple decision because he had the wide range of gait and gentle disposition I look for. Also he was within a couple hours drive. Sadly this year the owner decided to geld him in favor of her senior stallion. I appreciate any responses.

Wow! I did not know that Melinda gelded her beautiful pinto Pistol!
I thought she was keeping Pistol for her husband but I guess he is for herself. I was wondering what his babies looked like - I think you have several from him - please post them if you can.

Well, Favorito blood crosses very, very well, and VERY consistently with both Coral and Hilachas blood, if you're looking to do an outcross, these are quite proven successes.
Pazarro is 14.3, dark brown, and I will be showing him in the Largo Race this year. This line also produces mostly fillies, both from males and females, with excellent size and conformation, as well as gait, and very prepotent in looks.
(BTW, had another filly today! #3!)

Yes now I have the only get from him since he's gelded. What a wonderful horse he is not to mention very striking. I have a yearling bay filly, and three 2006 foals from Pistol. I have a 3 week old colt that is the mirror image of his sire.

The Coral sons are great as are STella's boys - but we do agree - ride the stallion before you breed. It tells you two things - first of all that the stallion is tractable enough to be a riding horse and second, that his gait is what you want. We have no problem with line breeding or inbreeding if the line has what you want. This is the best way to set characteritistics, but as Cowboy Ed said - there are other lines with smoking largos also - so have fun shopping! Our smoking largo mare is 7/8 PPR with a little Hilachas thrown in. 13 2 on the ground and 16 hands when you're on her back. The PPR andadura horses are famous for their speed. You might ask which PPR lines have the speed largos. I bet BarbP knows! But every paso fino's gait is different and the final test is if YOU like the particular gait to ride. But be careful!! We went husband hunting for our mares and came home with two new mares!!!
