We are bringing two horses this year mother and daughter. Meghan is showing this year as well, want to get the young ones interested in showing now, before boys kick in...lol.

Fonda is a blast! I usually go and stay for all 3 days. I bring my horse trailer and sleep in the dressing room. There are showers on the grounds and food, so it's not half bad....BTW, there is room for one more in the trailer, if anyone's interested in staying over. Well, not just anyone, only the hot & sexy folks, you know who you are. ;-)

I can't go to Fonda this year, but plan on going to Topsfield. Topsfield usually has the lobster dinner. And I heard they are going to have a trail riders clinic at Topsfield this year. One year, they had a trail ride, and trail riders got a discount on the stall fees! I believe Rick Shaffer is the judge on Friday so I am wondering if he is doing the clinic. We had him come to ME once and do a trail clinic for us and he is awesome!!

I have directions to places to ride, the big downer about trailriding is the deer flies that time of year.......

There is a Canal Trail just across the river, that you could ride to - I'm not sure if it is actually paved or just fine stone/stone dust topping. I do know horses are allowed on it - it goes for miles in either direction.

I did think about getting people together to ride to the ice cream shop off the canal trail- there is also the Annual Canal Days at the Schoharie Crossing right across the street.....

If enough people are interested, I can arrange for something - last year it never worked out. :(

I'm saving my pennies for Nationals, so I won't be bringing Amante to Fonda just to hang out. I did last year,and had fun watching a bunch of different people ride him. Plus, Amante got to meet his grandma, Rosanne Gmuer, owner of Prometido de Selecta. 8-) There is no lobster dinner at Fonda, but there is a really great catered dinner.

Lisa, are they having karaoke this year? Watching the drunken who's who of NEPFHA singing their little hearts out was a riot last year. :lol:

As far as I know - YES to Karaoke! Not sure who is catering dinner.....I will post a 'schedule' of events when I have a minute or two - heading home now from WORK!

Karin and I talked about the trail ride at topsfield this year, she wants there to be someone to head it up, so that people can trail ride during the show.

I was thinking it would be fun, and told her I would help out.

Erin, I would be willing to help out too. Do you know if they are going to offer cheaper stalls for trail riders (non-showers)? I know that brought some people a few years ago that wouldn't have been able to otherwise bring horses. Also, are the rumors I heard about a trail riding clinic true?

The fairgrounds are very nice, it is a large area with big fields, etc and there is a bathroom with showers if you want to camp. It is very clean.

I believe there were some really nice trails nearby that you had to trailer to, but can't remember the name of the place....it was some kind of state park or something. The people that went a few years ago liked it.
