Wow! MUCHO Congratulations, Lindsay! That's quite an accomplishment - it will REALLY make others turn heads...esp the arab folk! I really think when we do well amongst other breeds of horses, its ESPECIALLY significant! :D
Congrats Lindsay! I know how hard you have worked for this.
I couldn't agree more Stella, that's how we teach others about our phenomenal breed who can do it all.

Congratulations Lindsay...that is quite the accomplishment, beating the Arabs at their own game! Bravo for you! Of course being at the top, they'll be aiming to displace you....but at least for now, your accomplishment is inspiring!
Way to go!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It has been a lot of fun as well as work.
Carol U is right, they will try to displace us in the AERC national standings and will most likely knock us from any placement there (there are only 3 placements in the national category). There are a tremendous number of rides in the midwest, central and western parts of the country, spring through fall, with quite a few riders going over 400 miles, some to over or close to 500 miles in a season. But we do hope to keep a good placement in the AERC SE Region standing. There are 7 placements for this award which was started last year; Pocita's brother, Obi, tied with two other horses for 5th place.
Ed did not mention this, but there were two other Pasos recognized at the SEDRA awards. Both La Violetera del Classico, owned by Nancy Cloos, and Mayday, ridden by Allison Torrington and owned by Ed and Kathi Kilpatrick, earned their 250 mile awards. Mayday also placed 2nd in the Limited Distance Division (there are 8 placements and a Grand and Reserve in the division for a total of 10 awards). Pocita received both her 250 and 500 mile awards (can't remember whether Ed mentioned that or not).
Nancy C, you might be interested to know that SEDRA is considering adding Ride and Tie as a award category along with endurance and competitive trail.

Bloodlines do count in this type of activity and Lindsay has some of the best! While congratulating Lindsay and Pocita - just want to sneak in that one of Emi's sons is giving them a run for their money - Pasarb's Albierto. (Haven't met the owners so can't give more info...)
We hope to join Lindsay and Ed (and all the other Paso endurance riders) in more of the Limited Distance Endurance rides this coming season now that we actually have places to ride on a regular basis without trailering 20-30 miles for an hour's jaunt!
Lindsay - care to share bloodline studies you've done?

Thank you and yes Eminete's son Pasarab's Abierto is giving his 3/4+brother Leo's daughter Pocita de Cosa Dulce a real close race for the award year. As coincidence would have it at least three of Coral LaCe's offspring have competed in distance rides(Leo, Emi, Daddy's Shadow de Paca as (against arabs) and at least five of his grand get have been competing in AERC and three or more have been awarded top ten placements during thier competition. One Coral son was in the National championship ride.
