We had a bit of flash flooding yesterday. I thought I would share :D Kev and I had no clue it was happening until his dad came knocking on the door like the police and told us about it.

I noticed something was amiss when there were small waterfalls coming through our little rock retaining wall next to the driveway.

So I turned to see how the garden was holding up, just a small flow, no biggie.

We went to the backyard next to the woods and discovered a nice creek and small waterfall. If only we had that year 'round!

All of that water was going into Jimmy's (<--Kevin's dad) pond - which was running over the dam at that point.

So we walked down to Jimmy's to check it out! He has cute little creek behind his house about 200 feet away. This was the creek.

Here is his house, it gives you an idea of scale

After seeing that, Kev and I decided that it was time to take the Jeep out on some dirt roads and see if we could find some water to drive through.
This was out of the question!

Here is what it looked like after the water went down.

And here is Kevin at the top of what used to be our raging waterfall in the back yard. I am not sure what he was doing?

Really neat pictures.

Be careful though. Our TV weather person talked about flash floods a couple of days ago and said that water in flash floods only 6 inches deep could knock an adult off their feet and that water from a flash flood only 2 feet deep could move a car. I was astounded to hear those figures! That must be a lot of power.

Cool pics! We used to get flash flooding in AZ during the monsoon season. Yes, a little bit of fast-moving water can carry a 2 1/2 truck off pretty fast ;-)

Yes please be careful. Ours starts this week and hopefully it will be as good last last year with none, but they are predicting it will be a doosey. At least I don't have to drive out of town to get to work anymore and have the 4x4. Almost seems unfair to Troy lol

Parts of Pennsylvania are really flooding - my office in West Conshohocken (Philadelphia area) is the only building open in the whole area. All of the roads except one are closed off.

Here is the view of the river from our offices:

They are expecting more rain, and the river is supposed to crest at 2 a.m. YIKES

PS - for reference, those trees are about 20 feet high!
