Don Danilo was an exceptionally talented Paso who won in all modalities! But please remember that while many of his offspring were diagonal, not all of these horses produced trocha... In fact, in Colombia, foals are 'assigned' their dam's gait and owners have five years to declare the horse's final (permanent) gait classification.

Perhaps not all of Danilo's offspring produced trocha, but I am certain that El Arco and Canario did. El Arco is quite well known for being an excellent producer of diagonally gaited offspring. Canario II is also considered an "important producer" of diagonally gaited offspring. He has several direct offpsring that are diagonally gaited show ring champions, and several who are Fuera de Concurso in either Trocha y Galope (Canario's modality), or Trocha Pura. His son El Cesar (F.C. Trocha y Galope) produced a daughter, Silueta R.A. (Fuera de Concurso Trocha y Galope) that was crowned World Champion Trocha y Galope at La Mundial in Medellin. Being that Canario II was the product of inbreeding (Don Danilo x Maria Bonita), it is not at all surprising that he would produce traits quite similar to his sire, who was also his dam's sire. :D
