Now this is just sad.....I think she deserves a fun Paso experience if we can find one close enough. :D
I've been on a horse once. When I was about 7, my mother forced a girl at my school to invite me to her house (I've never had people who wanted to be friends). She was pretty rich. I got on her horse and walked a few steps. I haven't been invited to get on a horse since. I'm 33. Neighbors on two sides have horses but they've never socialized with us. I asked once when I was a kid to ride one of their horses, and they said no. I used to sneak carrots to the horses.
I live in Howard County, MD, near Ellicott City and about 15 miles west of Baltimore City. I'm so busy that I don't know if I'd be able to visit any horse folk anyway. At my "old age," I'd be afraid of falling off (the horse).
I don't think she really means it....she wants to ride. I can just tell ;-) [/quote]

Lets see if we can lock it down. She seems like the shy type to me that would never be bold enough to weasel a test ride. And since she has not much experience on horses, I would prefer to send her to a quieter place for a test ride if you know what I mean.

There is a breeder/seller in her area by the name of Yvonne Bullock. she could look her up. I am pretty sure that she could get test rides on performance horse there.

How can I find her contact info myself. I'd rather do the contacting.
I did just email her your info on how close you are. I hope she goes for it.

I suggest the telephone book. she is on Driver Road, ellicott city, howard county, md. I have been out of contact with her for many years. Coreen and Abejita may have more recent contact.

She should be. I think she is a VA region member.

Correen already helped me call her. :D She is about 10 minutes away from this person. I emailed her all the info and I hope she is brave enough to actually go. I think she will have a great time. Yvonne seemed super nice. I think Correen might even try to go and help out when the time comes. Lets keep our fingers crossed. I think this gal could use a little equine boost.

I love these things too. Ppl really appreciate it too. They can't believe horse folks are so nice. ;-)
Last weekend we had a family reunion while sis was in town. Of course we had lots of ppl that wanted to try a ride. But we always have someone that has never ridden in their life.
This time it was young lady about my age. I put her on Princess in the round pen and got her going. She seemed pretty confident, but was having trouble sitting the trot (but I could see she was eager for speed.) So I graduated her to Candee, and he did great. She had to learn both riding styles but she adaped wonderful. Next thing you know...she had Candee largoing and galloping around the pen....HUGE smile on her face. She was so impressed w/herself. She got pix and video to document the moment and she couldn't have been happier...and neither could I. ;-)
