Thanks for the compliment Carol. they are sooooo good. they were coming into the barn in preparation for the yearling show, and have learned to be lead, to stand in a stall, to be washed, to be loaded and trailered, and of course they learned to be tied at a very young age. They are pretty safe to be around, although Roy who is the most nervy horse I have met, was a little scared of seeing me with the bucket. they are not used to having people come into the field with buckets. Cristi is going to start very easy easy lounging with them, so that they don't get worked too hard next year when they go into training as 2 year olds.
Saber loves to ride along the fence line with Primero. They are currently in a field with the herd leader gelding of the "other" herd. They will then be introduced to the "hill field herd".
The 2yr olds love their work..... it is a testament to how a good start can give a horse the chance of a long and good career, outside of the race business.
I also believe that the healthy herd dynamics of a good herd leader who keeps the herd calm is a huge factor. The babies get to sleep with their uncles looking after them, rather than tearing around such as they do when brood farms put all babies together with no adult influence.

Great pix. I like Smokes color. He must ground tie b/c I don't see him tied up on the lunch pic. 8-) What a good boy.
The rest of the crew looks great too. Lots of potential out in that field. 8-)
