Due to the great demand to have a sales forum, I have decided to try something new.

There are classifieds on the home page, but not everyone goes there. But I need for there to be traffic on the home page....so what I've decided to do is allow posts in the forum w/links to the ads placed on the home page.

Please only place sales links to APF home page. The regular classified are free, and they allow for unlimted text, and 3 photos. You may post additional photos in your forum post if you wish, but please leave the bulk of your horses description on the home page. Folks may ask the seller questions and the seller may respond on the forum.

Thank you, Lori! What a great new idea for those of us with horses to sell! I think it will greatly improve traffic to the home page. I myself bookmarked this page and come directly here...I hardly ever check out any other pages.
I'll post my mare there later today! :D

HOW do you get the link here? I tried to "copy shortcut"...didn't work...what is the trick?

I just copied the URL at the top of the page where my ad is and pasted it here. (make sure you are not in your edit mode and copying the URL to the actual ad). ;-)

I tried to copy the URL from the add page that shows many ads (page 4 of pasos for sale general)...do you open the ad first? When I open the ad...I don't see any URL at the top of the page....

Great idea Lori! Now can people post Stallions for stud on here too?

Yes, you can link anything from the home page ads.

Just a thought...but you might want to limit the number of ads...I mean you can put your sale links on one ad....or the same thing will happen that happens at Pasopedigree...which is that many sellers post a ton of ads...until they run everybody else off the main page and it turns into more and more ads from the same people every single day... a sort of "running the board"...I know Charlie had problems with people doing that there...taking advantage and posting all their horses on single ads... instead of using the available space more "wisely" (?)..... ;-)

The _only_ problem I can see is if people start to abuse the privilege (and it is a privilege) by bumping their ads to the top. I like the idea of seeing what is for sale in the title bar - as opposed to seeing 'XYZ' Farm has Pasos for sale... but it is a potential problem which needs to be monitored carefully.

Maybe people should be encouraged to post a small description with keywords along with the link so that potential buyers could use the 'search' feature to scan the sales posts.

I have seen the homepage more since this went up than I have in the time I have been an apf member. That part of it is working great. :D

Please, no-one post good deals in my area. I do not need another horse. The temptation will drive me nuts. Especially if you guys advertise a really nice stallion at stud. This is dangerous ground for me :-?

Actually, I think it's a good idea. Hopefully advertisers will post the location of the horse so prospective buyers don't have to read about the perfect horse on the other side of the country.

Sandy,
You know I LOVE the Coral lines (and miss my Coral son horribly).

You will be close.

My husband may kill me.

I REALLY want another baby.

Baby snorts!
God I love em!
This is the longest I've gone w/o a new baby (7 years). Ladda's biological clock is ticking

You are making me crazy!!!!

BAD IDEA to make the advertisements easier to read.

Katie's bred back to Emi for an '07 foal - now _that_ is a baby I can hardly wait for!
