Who wouldn't? ;-)
Vilcom International Outdoor News and Horse Report often uses photos posted on the BB on their Paso Fino Pages to help promote Paso Finos. If you would like Bob to use any photos you post just PM or E-Mail him. Anyone who does not wish to have your photos published in the publication, please politely notify him also by PM or E-Mail.
If you would like to see them published please include the name of the photographer, subjects or horses names in the photos, to help identify those in the photos and any other information you feel will be oh help when you post the photos.
Bob has indicated that if he uses your photos he will advise you and send you copies of the newspaper FREE when the photos are used.
Or you could post. VION&HR has permission to use any photos posted on APF.Com in their publication.
Thank You

wait ..we have to tell him NOT to use them? Is that just the ones on his site or the ones we post on here too?

I'm shocked, too! I would have thought, that he would have to seek permission from an individual before using a photo. How are you going to be sure that newcomers will be aware of this policy? As your post is written, a person who wouldn't want him to use them, might not even read this!

I think he usually asks each person, but I wanted to make everyone aware that they CAN have them published if they ask. ;-)

I'm confused. We have to tell him if we want them used and if we don't? What if we don't say anything? How would I know if he is even interested in one of mine?

Sorry for the confusion folks but I am only trying to be of some help. Some people do not want their photos published in newspapers and I must respect their privacy and not publish them.
Other horse owners are the other side of the coin, they like to see their horses pictures in the paper so I just wanted to make it easier for all and let you all decide.
Perhaps when you post a photo you could somewhere in the post use (PDNP) Please Do Not Publish or use (PPP) Please Publish Photo. I am open to all suggestions that will make it easy for all and to help get recognition for horse owners that would like to have their horses photos in the paper.
Bob :D
PS: To Terri we are always interested in photos of horses and riders just e-mail them to me in a jpeg format and if we have space we will use them. Hope this helps :D

What about newcomers or other people , who don't read this thread? They won't know to use your letters. Some, who know, may forget. We may not be able to see the full beauty of the pictures if people start placing copywritten across the photo, so they don't forget to let you know.
I'm concerned about how my horses will be presented. Once, someone made a comment about using a pic in a way, that I didn't like, so I took it off a forum. Now I tend to make my pics even smaller than necessary for forum to function well. I've had photos in national magazines, but we've refused a request, too. It depends, and I like making the choice about where and how!

I agree Cindy. I think we should have permission from each person each time.
But for example when I ask for photos for Showtime like in the winter riding pix thread...I assume you consent if you post the photo. ;-)

That's different when clearly asked in a particular thread. I consented to use in the photo contest, too. It was presented well! Thanks!

Why can't this be made simpler? I think that if Bob wants to use a particular photo he should PM the person who posted it and ask permission. Isn't that simple?

well yeah when you post in a thread that says 'This is a contest ..and WINNERS will be published '..you give consent by posting..now if I have to think that every pic I post might be pilfered and used unless I remember or take time to put a 4 letter abbreviation..I just aint gonna post no more pics..next to Barb's suggestion..that is the easiest...I know that thi is the internet and people probably steal pics all the time..but ..hey..
