Hi Everyone!
I have just registered with this form and after reading many of the posts, I can see that this is a very helpful and friendly group ... that is wonderful!
Although I have been riding for WAY too many years to admit as well as training dressage and saddlebreds for many years, we are now just learning about the lovely Pasos.
I have spent quite a bit of time researching to find answers to my questions, but I'm not satisfied with the info I've found. I do hope ya'll will be patient with me and provide some help as we only want to do things right.
Many thanks in advance (for I know I'll be on here often) and all the best to everyone!

Howdy, and welcome. What part of So. Fla are you from? I look forward to seeing you at a show soon since I see you are asking about showing in some other posts. ;-) Tell us more about your mare. How long have you had her?

Hi Lori:
I am from Boca, but our farm is in Wellington. We will be at the show in Miami this weekend. I understand you are showing ... I would like to meet you. How / where can I find you there?
Thank you for the warm welcome! This is a terrific board!
Good luck this weekend,
Terri

Well, I suppose we can make room for more FLA people. ;-)
Do you own any pasos? or are you just "looking in to them." Either way that is okay, you can tell us about your saddlebreds - pictures are of course required. We like them too.
And other Terri on the board works okay as well.

I look forward to meeting you at the show. Hopefully when you see me...I won't be having a nervous break down before my class. ;-)
I will probably be all around and everywhere at once. ;-) I have early an morning class w/Tequila. (class 11) and then I don't have classes again until the evening when Fino starts. So I will either be around La Fortuna's stalls (look for the black and gold), or at the Showtime booth, or in the ring....or somewhere in between. ;-)
Are you coming both days? Don't be shy when ya see me. Be sure to say hi. 8-)

Hi Lori:
LOL!!!! I'm a LOT of things, but shyness has never been one of them! Don't you worry ... I will find you and hunt you down :-)
I will be there both days. Sat. I won't get there until mid-afternoon, but Sunday, I will be there all day.
You won't have a nervous breakdown! And, although I am inexperienced in showing Pasos, I've been getting horses ready for the showring for about 40 years (I am OLD ... 50 ...yikes).
SO ... if anyone needs some help, please DO call on me ... I would much rather be involved in getting horses ready than to sit in the stands all day. I am not a sitter!
Regarding the Paso mare, actually, I am working her for some people. I train 12 other horses. When they called me, it was really for a behavior problem and the mare and I pretty much clicked. I think (or hope) I know horses well enough and have studied the breed enough that I do believe she is working quite well. I just need to learn the "other" stuff and hope to pick up a lot of answers to my questions this weekend.
I am pretty much "computer challenged," but if I weren't, I'd be happy to post a picture of me on the horse I won the American Saddlebred World Championship Park Class last year. Thank you for asking!
If anyone knows how to direct me to post it, please let me know. Or, maybe I could email it to you and you could post if for me??
I very much look forward to getting to know you all!
Terri

Hey welcome, this place is great for beginners. I have learned so much (not things I wanted to hear but needed since it was the truth) from awesome people here. This is the best board (besides my Newf board hehe) I have seen. You will love it here.
*grabs a huge UPS box and pokes holes in it and pops Merlin in to send off to Terri*

Welcome Terri!! :D
Have a great time at the show this weekend! Let us know what you think. Maybe somebody can get you on a few different pasos so you can get a good representation of the breed as they are all different.
If you don't get your questions answered, ask away here, there are some very knowledgable people on this forum!

You are most welcome.
Homer is 1 hour north of ATL on I- 85. Quite the bustling metropolis.

And, thank you Jose! Each time I look at my email, I am constantly surprised over the efforts all of you have taken and are taking to make me feel at home and welcome! Without a doubt, this is clearly the most helpful and kindest equine board on the net! I am SO thrilled that I found all of you.
All the best, Jose!

Hello Treaty!
Thank you for the welcome and YES ... I did say dressage (which I adore as well!)
I hope we can meet at the show this weekend. There are some pics of me posted on the board, so hopefully, you will recognize me so we can meet!

Welcome Terri, So glad you found your way here. I'm Lori's Mom, and known around here as just plain "MOM"
We are so glad you found us. Lori was telling me on the phone last night that you were coming to the show. I hope you meet up with her, she loves this breed (I had to twist her arm alittle to get her into them) but now she is sold lock stock and barrel!
We look forward to hearing from you alot! Horse knowledge is horse knowledge, and Dressage gives you the most "knowledgable about the horse and his anatomy in relationship to how he moves, etc." Or so it seems to me. I have a friend who was into Dressage for years. She always amazes me with her knowledge.
Anyway, say hello to my daughter if you see her.....which I am sure you will! I am sure she will see about introducing you to the wonderful world of Paso's and if you have the time later, will probably take you around to some of the barns for her famous "barn tours"
You will have to come over to the ranch here for a ride....I am out of commission for a while. Just had foot surgery and won't be getting on a horse for several more months..... :cry But I would love to meet you someday soon.

Hi "Mom"!
Apologies for not responding sooner, but had a crazy day yesterday and then spent most of the day today at the show. And, YES!!! I had the pleasure of meeing Lori ... what a wonderful and beautiful girl! We had the BEST time ... I can't wait to have more time with her when we aren't at a show.
Her horses are gorgeous and she did an outstanding job!
I gave her your message and she was touched.
I hope your foot is better soon, but I'm up for a ranch visit anytime. And, the same to all of you ... would love to have you visit our farm!
Unfortunately, we had to leave the show earlier than we planned as one of our llamas died. It was very sad.
Looking forward to meeting you soon,
Terri
