It is beautiful! I wonder if you could put a large outdoor mirror against your block wall so you'd have two ponds???

Good job, beautiful pond! If you need some tips on the algae, let me know and I can try to help.
I hope you have two goldfish of the same sex. I bought 5 for our pond this past spring. We have 22 goldfish now. Want some? ;-)
Wow! can you come put one in like that at my place? it's a work of art!

MG's are on to something there! Can you imagine that beautiful pond reflected in a huge honkin' mirror? Gorgeous!

Abejita, that is simply beautiful...I'll bet the sound of the water is very soothing! I agree...a large mirror behind would just add to the effect!
Water is very healing...you know.

well I know you are supposed to have SOME algae..and if the pond gets itself balanced right the green water will clear up..but my pond is 'young yet..not a lot of time for the beneficial bacterial etc to grow..the string algae on the other hand..maybe 22 fish would help keep it down ;-) ..I might need more plants to cover the water..I was gonna get a catfish and just eat him at the end of the season...lol

Sheri, it sounds like you have done your homework. You are bound to get some algae until your pond balances itself. There are products you can buy to speed the process. Also, you can seed your pond with beneficial microbes to break down fish waste and, but I say, let nature take its course. ;-)
Your pond looks fantastic!

That is beautiful. I am going to try that after we build our house. I started a container water garden this year to house tadpoles. The tadpoles didn't make it, but the two goldfish seem pretty happy in their waterlillies.
I also think the mirror would be cool or if you wanted to put up something easier and cheaper (often my favorite choice!), you could get some kind of bamboo screen to give it an even more woodsy look.
You have inspired me to try a real pond in the future! Enjoy your little corner of peace!

I was thinking of a bamboo type screen..That white wall does kinda ruin the look a little..Mirrors that big ..scare me..lol..dont want to have to look at myself after a hard days work..and this is right beside the porch ...

bamboo would look very nice - or one of those mirrors that has the crackels in it or a metal mirror so you can't really see the image clearly - just out of focus.
