Porcy has allways been the bottom of the Totem pole here. She is squeally as they come but if it comes to a fight she tucks tail and runs. I thought that becoming a mother would bring out some dominance in her to protect her baby, like any other animal. So was not the case she avoided confrontation at all times.

Yesterday I noticed she was moving Maggie out of her space. Nothing dramatic just little cues. Now Maggie has been ruler of the roost around here behind Carlos and now Little Man as of mid November.

This morning feeding went as normal except for Noche and Rebel they now get fed in the trailer, Which loading went flaulessly. Well Porcy finished first and then went into Maggies stall, another first. Well legs were flying, Out came Maggie and Porcy in pursuit. Not chasing in sence but backing and kicking. She went after Maggie half way across the pasture in reverse. Maggie would stop and challenge every 20 feet or so. But Porcy prevailed. Five minutes later Maggie aproached the round bale to have Porcy pin her ears at her. Maggie stopped, Porcy dropped her head and allowed her to approach.

I am so proud of her I didn't think she would ever be aggresive. I hope this new mentallity crosses over to riding and she won't be so nervous about the whole thing. She'd be a super ride then.

That sounds like my arab Princess getting bossed by Candee all the time. But recently...Princess has been standing her ground a little more too. It's kinda like rooting for the underdog.
