Not a paso, but I can't resist a horse in need ;-)
Cruiser (QH) was trained as a reiner and has been with his current family for about a year. Teenage daughter was using him for some events (barrels, poles, etc). About 2 months ago, he cut his eye pretty badly. It's all healed up, but the daughter refuses to ride a horse with an eye like that (not sure if she feels he can't compete or it's just vanity). So, I heard about him through a friend - he was going to the sale :( I called the guy to see how much he would take. $700. I said I can't afford to buy him now (we have to sell Chex first - another story...). He said 'come get him, take him home, keep him for a month, see what you think'!
So, that's what I did.... it was dark (and raining hard) when we got home last night so I put him in the corral/barn with some hay and water.
Here's what happened this morning...
Hey look! someone new over the fence! (yes, they are all MUDDY)

After meeting everyone over the fence, I went and got Shorty (my babysitter) and put Cruiser and him in the small pasture together. (everyone, including Crusier is UTD on vacc, etc)

Happy Cruiser!

Here's a close-up of his eye. He does blink when you wave your hand in front of it. Not sure how much vision is there. The man was using him as a trail horse recently and he isn't spooky or anything.... I rode him at their place and will take him riding this weekend to check him out more. He may be hubby's new horse (fingers crossed)!
