What do you think about me combining most of the stuff in the Welcome area...like the Photo, Avatar, Logging in, etc under one forum, or do you like it the way it is. I was trying to help the folks with dial up...like PasoMom.

I would probably leave the Contest Corral and Newbie Corral, and then just have Help Center.

Lori - Maybe leave out the Forum Rules also so people are sure to see that.....

With a good number of membrs now who can help the newer members and refer them to help forums... I think down-sizing or consolidating the help area would be a good idea. Maybe a FAQs forum would answr the most often asked questions...

I know I have to scroll down at least one screen to see any of the regular forums....

Ok, I combined a few things...let's see if it helps.
I will need everyone's help in keeping up with the newbies with questions, so if you see someone struggling...help em out! 8-)

I'd think it would work! I also think, that it might be good to move the NPR section, General Chit Chat, down, so that newcomers could get to the paso sections first. It might be helpful for you to include items about the site in the rules section; then you could call it something like "Rules and Announcements".

So how many think the NPR section should be moved down? I figured it was best at the top because that is where most people hang out. LOL. It seems most popular.

I was thinking along the lines of promoting pasos and teaching newcombers. Wasn't that the goal? Newcombers might give up before finding the proper paso posts. I don't know anyone, that likes to scroll.

Seems to me that most of the posts on the chit chat forum ARE about Pasos. People, myself included, don't like to look all over the place to find where they should post. I think that's why the chit chat forum has so many users.

Actually, there are often posts about other breeds, which is perfectly fine. Does it promote our breed though? If one's busy and short on time, isn't it easier to go to the appropriate area than to search through a section for specific type posts?

Congratulations! It's well-organized and looks professional! I think, that it might even be clearer for us Baby Boomers! After all, we are attracted to pasofinos as we live more.

So we aren't supposed to post paso fino things in General Chit Chat? When were totally fatigued we really don't want to have to figure out where to post. It's waaaaaay too difficult. Let General be General - whatever anyone wants to put there with the specialties for those who really want an indepth treatment of something.

Pasos for Fun
For laid back chat about the fun side of our breed, trail riding, sharing pix of our horses, and encouragement of folks who are new to our breed.

Lori put Pasos for Fun, which would be more general at the top of the paso section for people's convenience. I think, that it's nice, for her to try to make it easier. A lot of paso posts can go there. A person can't expect busy professionals to help us in that section though.

Basically, she reorganized and added NPR to a section, which already stated that purpose. I have to put my reading glasses on to read those smaller letters under the titles of sections! That's why my one comment on us Baby Boomers. It seems, that this already made things clearer.

Well, it had stated that it was not for paso or horse talk. Until Hurricane Dennis, I avoided this section after I opened a controversial thread by mistake. I wasn't aware, what it would be by the title. I tried to check this section for important announcements if I saw Lori had posted though. Now she's been kind enough to post announcements elsewhere.[/b]
