View Full Version : Online Auction
Trying to get a feel for how many folks might consider participating in an auction that will be held during the National show this year at a vendor booth. Folks will be able to bid either on-line or in persons and there will be dvd clips available for viewing. Thanks.

What kind of items for bid? :D
Welcome to the forum btw. 8-)
Opps sorry about that ... as we get older our mind starts to deteriorate. PFHA registered horses from yearling to about 10 years of age.

Is this in lieu of the regular sale, or along w/it?
Lori it is in NO way tied to the auction put on by the folks at the National show. This one would be hosted by a well known vendor at his booth. Would go from a set date to a set date during the show and each morning they would post on their site what the current bid was on each horse. At least for the time being this is the way he is saying it will be handled. Would probably have between 8 and 10 horses on the auction.

Sounds cool. Could we get a preview of the horses?
Will there be reserves for the horses?
If there are any reserves it will only be on a couple of the horses. Some still shots of some of the ones that will be in the auction are on-line. Lori I will send you an address via e-mail if I can figure out how to do it. LOL

The ads don't say if the horses are broke or much about them besides name and parents.
It would be nice to know more about them before bidding. :D
One says it's a palomino, then the ad says cremelo, but the horse looks grey to me. :?:
And for the reasons you just mentioned there will be a dvd available when the auction is set up and one that will run continuously at Nationals. I only have 4 horses in there and can tell you that Asombro and Cierra are broke and have been both on trail and in shows. The other two Sentado and Katia are 2.3 and 1.5 and for my taste to young to be under saddle yet. I am sure there are discs ready to be sent out from Casa Dosa before Nationals if anyone is interested.

Sona...you may want to review prices from previous auctions at nats...horses have gone incredibly cheap...I remember some at a mere $350...yep...three hundred fifty dollars....and yes...broke to ride! Some for $1200, $2,000 for a kid broke pinto mare..etc....
Auctions can be real losers...so be carefull.... its almost always better to sell to people at your own farm... JMO
I just realized...I watched Flying M Rondalla sell at the Flying M auction....hope you did not have as much trouble as I did getting the PFHA papers! ;-)
