When i ride
I don't care what you said
I don't care
Why should i?
I'm riding
It's just me and my horse.
simply me and him
cantering
leaving this world behind
into to the world to were squirrels can eat me
into his world of speed, entwining
don't have to worry about what happened
1-2-3-4 largo, it's time to fly,
fly down trails of gold
snacking on trees as we go
jump
over logs across creaks
home, home till tomorrow
when again when me and him become one

Paso Finos
By Tina (Micomypal)
Have you ever heard of a Paso Fino?
You're missing a whole world.
There are the horses I ride,
Mico, and Micka.
And the people of the Paso, Chrissy, and her mom.
Their gaits, quarto, largo, fino,
so smooth, like polished rocks.
And there are legends,
such as Capuchino
and Hilachas,
who, by the way, I must thank
for helping creating my dear friend Mico.
Yes, when you learn about Paso Finos, then you're whisked away
Into a whole new world.
It may not matter, 100 years from now
That these horses existed at all.
But if you meet a Paso Fino, as I hope you do,
then they'll be important to you in your heart.
So I welcome you now, to a world of horses
who cease to amaze us
and fill our hearts with joy.

The Class
By: Alexandra Klepak aka BatmanRox
Through the gate and on the rail
Confident and determined not to fail
Moving slow with fast footfall
Then "Paso Largo!" the announcer calls
Letting the horse go a little bit
but keeping a hold on the bit
Passing horses as you go
Then you hear "Walk!" its time to go slow
Relaxing a little while staying on track
And letting the reins have a little slack
Then you turn around as you hear "Reverse!"
You do it so perfectly it looks rehearsed
You kiss to your horse as "Cuarto!" is called
Making sure you stay on the wall
Before to long its time to Largo once more
And the judges watch as you begin to soar
Making sure not to go to fast
Then its time to walk at last
Moving along going slower
Then it back to a cuarto, the class is almost over
Then your guided over the board by the ring master
So you make sure your footfall is a little bit faster
You make your way across as all the people cheer
A roll of Thunder is what they hear
Cuarto over into the line up and stop, standing straight
As you wait for the judges to decide your fate
Slowly makind theyre way down the line they come to you
And they Ask you to back, which of course you do
Then you wait to see how you've done
But it doesn't really matter cause you had fun
Then one by one they start give out the places
And you can see excitement on everyones faces
Then slowly but surely they reach the last two
And the only ones left are another rider and you
Then they call out the other
And you both congradulate each other
Then you get your blue ribbons and your heart begins to soar
And you go around and do the board once more
You can't help but smile and everyone claps
And your happy because you did your best and won the class

Marinero my horse I never fear the worse, but wait patiently for the brightest days,
in my heart you will always have a special place.
Remember, you can always make me mad,
But please don't make me sad
You make my heart smile, so we can run a mile,
And don't make me fall
'Cause you're not difficult to ride at all
You're my joy,
But I have to remember that you're not a toy
You're also my pride,
Plus you're easy to ride
I hope we never get lost
'Cause to die together, that's a must
You're my "Jewel of the Sea,"
But one thing other people don't see
Is that you're as beautiful as can be
This past issue we did not have room for the Poems but upcoming issue will include.........

When I’m feeling down and out
You know what it’s all about
And I don’t have to say a thing,
The tears are enough for you to see
What’s aching deep inside of me.
I can ride you anywhere
Feel the wind run through my hair
As your feet fly musically
Away into another world
Where spirits dance in unity.
You feel pain that burns inside
My heart and shows through tear-filled eyes
You mirror every part of me
So I can know you more fully
And my true self I’ll learn to see.
And when rain falls and I’m alone
I feel your heartbeat metronome
Somehow in absence we are strong
Even if the time seems long
We’ll meet again, our hearts renewed
Enjoy our magic solitude.
Gitano, gypsy, my true love
That’s who you are, sent from above,
My soulmate, perfect spirit-one
Our life together’s just begun
The years go by, you’ll still be true
And I’ll ever breathe to dance with you.
And I have some great artwork I need to upload and post so stay tuned.
You guys are all very talented writers and thank you for your submissions.
Please let me know if you did not get the copy of Showtime w/your poems.
