Hello everyone.....I have been browsing for a week and decided to jump in and say hi. As my username suggests, I had a horse wreck in January 05 and have decided to get back in the saddle with a Paso. I have only ridden 3 or 4 times since my accident and am still very timid and insecure. I sure envy all of you as you seem to be extremely experienced and secure in your riding. Hopefully I can gain some of that confidence with Tazz. I don't have much info on him yet but I will get it after this weekend. My husband and I are going to Murfreesboro this weekend so maybe we can find some of you and say hi. I know what you're gonna say---where's the pictures--so if someone wants to help me out, I do have some pictures of my new boy that I can post.
Thanks in advance......

 I guess you have been lurking if you know we want pix already. ;-)
Just upload the pix on your computer to a site like www.photobucket.com
*It helps if you resize the pix to about 6x4 in a photo editing program before uploading)
Once you have the pix loaded on the photo hosting site, just copy the third IMG tag down under the thumbnail size pic. Then paste that into you post here. It helps to have both sites up and minimize them. ;-)

Welcome!! I wish I could go to Murfreesboro! My paso I just sold this spring is supposed to be showing there with his new owner. He is a gray pleasure gelding being shown by Maple Leaf Pasos. He is doing awesome and will be going to Nationals this year.
Have fun at the show! This is a good forum if you have questions. :D

Hey, backinthesaddle. I too had a bad fall and it took me a while to want to ride past a walk. It took a few months, but after understanding that a loose (Western) girth with a very annoyed horse, caused the problem, we both went for retraining. I now make sure my girth is secure (prefer English, can't ever get Western right) and after hours of working in the arena and miles and miles of trail riding, we have a great work, fun ethic and understanding and I can hardly remember the fall at all. Just get right backinthesaddle! Good luck and most of all, have fun! :D Sharon L.

Been there, done that too. I had a very bad wreck - let's see, 32 years ago - almost broke my neck. It took a solid year for me to ride again and easily another year for me to gain my confidence back. What it took for me was realizing the anatomy of a wreck, and that it was all MY fault, for clamping onto a green horse with my legs and scaring it to death. I had to learn to relax, relax, relax...
You'll get there, it takes time, just take all the time you need to get there. No reason to rush past your comfort level.
Welcome to the BB.

Know what you mean about needing to rebuild confidence. It will come. Had a good friend who had a bad accident a couple of years ago. Took along time to get her back in the saddle. Worked alot with her on my guy Rio and then to her own astonishment last year she bought a 3 yr old filly with 30 days training and now she is back on the trails! Just takes time and patience. Dont' expect to get it all back at once, one step at at time
And yes, we need pictures!!!!

Glad to have you on board!
So sorry about your crash, but glad to hear you are ready to put that behind you and ride a cadillac of a horse. They will make you fall in love all over again!
We all love our Paso's, not that we don't all love ALL horses, but these Paso's are sure special!
Welcome back onto the trail!
