This is the prettiest and best surprise I ever had.
This young man is a parting gift from my stallion
It was not a planned pregnancy but he sure did his
daddy proud.

Also I have called the association and they are not able
to tell me how many homozygous pintos we have in our
breed. I am curious does anyone know how many stallions
there might be or does anyone know where some might
be located. And perhaps pics of any of these?

I had a list of homozygous pintos...but lost it somewhere..
Anyway...there is:
Pegasus Dos de Estaban..Grove Creek Farm..Owner Michele Branson

Lots of Spots Colorado..Owned by Denise Ireland..now in South Carolina (?)

Pegasus Dos de Estaban's full brother that was at Fantasy farms...can't recall his name at the moment...fantasy Farms in Florida

Apache del Conde...I don't know the location

Lynn Hall has one (?) Don't know his name...are YOU pasoloco?

Maybe someone will add a bunch to the list! there are getting to be quite a few now...lots of HZ toby mares too.

A homozygous tobiano pinto can only come from two tobiano pinto parents...was the sire of your nice colt sired by a tobaino pinto and out of a tobiano pinto? What was his name?

I think Denise Ireland has a couple HZ toby mares, and probably more than one HZ colt or filly...By Lots of Spots Colorado....

She has lots of pintos now for sure!

What a stunning baby! Of course I have always been partial to horses "of color"!

*Weird thing noticed* I'm on dial up, so the photo's loaded fairly slowly. The 2nd photo loaded 1st, and the 1st part to show was the mares flank region, with the veins showing. At 1st I thought you had superimposed the baby's picture onto a unusual "background". Of course a few seconds later the whole photo defined the mares back half. It was very interesting looking.

Tami Pinell's black & white she stands at stud Chaparron Estellar...plus he had an HZ son sold to someone else.... I *think* was by that stud... How could I have forgotten Tami? Heck..I did a shadow-box bella forma Breyer horse of Chaparron Estellar!! Tami has more HZ pintos...though I do not know how many!

Ok, here's my Canela de Sangria at a gangly year and a half. She is tested homozygous and is a direct daughter of the now deceased Santana del Cardo. Her dam is Sangria de El Dione (Sandy), the Pinto mare in the team of Pasos that pulled the carriage in the opening ceremonies of the Grand Nationals the last three years. She is owned by Ray and Pam Knisely of Carriage House Farms in Ft. Pierce, Fla.

Here is Canela as an adult and pregnant with her first filly, Pequena Flor. Canela is a big girl, she measures out at 14.2 and a half.

And here is her filly, also homozygous, Pequena Flor, as a yearling. It is Pequena that is the Pegasus Dos de Estaban daughter. Pequena is for sale. She also is a nice size for a yearling, but don't know if she will attain her mother's size.

Carriage House Farms also has a Santana son that is magnificent. His name is Denali del Cardo, I believe, but I don't know if he is homozygous.

Gosh, if I didn't have too many already, I would love to have a pinto.

No, Terry, with the drought, high hay prices, and the poor horse market, I have not bred any mares but my minis for two years now. I just can't afford to put another horse on the ground I may have to feed next year. I believe rather than breeding Canela to Red the next time, which would still give me Pinto, but not homozygous, I will repeat the breeding to Pegasus Dos. We still have hopes of getting our own homozygous stallion, and if we could get one as nice as Pequena, he would be our next breeding stallion.
Red ain't goin' nowhere and Canela's young so we have plenty of time to breed her to him. ;-)
