First of all, I am answering this only because asked. This is my personal opinion and I am not stating this to start a battle with anyone.
I found that Hussein is prettier then Vitral was. I put a lot of weight on the beauty of the horse, always looking for beautiful conformation and a gorgeous head, with widely spaced eyes that are soft and bright. Sadly Vitral had a long face and sad eyes. I have noticed that this trait is not always passed on to his offspring though, as the colt (Is it Vitrali?) that Micelletti's have has a very pretty head.
I also have the tape (sadly I did not see either horse personally) of the Mundial where they were the two top contenders (I do not remember the year). Vitral may have been quicker, I'm not sure, they both were awesome, but Hussein was a much nicer 'package' with his alert head carriage, beautiful arched neck and gorgeous mane shimmering as he moved. He was just incredible, so much that he gave me goosebumps. And I do watch this tape now and then and show it to people who have questions about the Fino gait.
If James' stallion is as beautiful as his sire, Sr James is a very lucky man.

One other comment about Hussein, it has been many years since then, but I have not seen a stallion I like as much in the Fino classes, and I have been to Nationals every year since then. I go back to my comment about head carriage. I think a Fino Champion stallion should have their head up, looking where they are going, very proud of who they are and what they are doing. What I typically see are overtucked behind the bit, perhaps being pushed too hard? But definately not the beautiful upright and proud carriage I love.

Carol,
I believe Cordobes is just as beautiful as his sire with an added bonus that he is jet black as you can see from the pictures. His neck, head position and carriage is exactly what you describe under saddle. His movements are very refined and he is all business. He loves his work and gets better everyday.
I can definitely see why you think that he is a better package then his brother Vitral. And in some respects that is the case.
For me, I fell in love with both of those stallions. I have two direct daughters of vitral and a grand daughter. Now I have Hussein in one of his sons so I feel blessed with these animals.
To me they were both great horses and this is due to their sire Terremoto de Manizales.
Thank you again Carol for your compliments and I hope to be able to share with you and everyone on this forum a clip of what he is like under saddle very soon.
