I'M SO HAPPY WITH INDIO FOR ONCE.!!! even though it's prolly just a one time thing he was awesome today. i haven't ridden him since he reared up at the nationals and i decided to retire him. Yes he was out of shape and he got a little to sweaty but oh my gosh he only acted up once. For the first time in like a year i was able to let go of the reins and just let him walk around. He used to always let me do that but then he started all his junk but maybe he is going to be normal again. i had him trotting on cue, corto, largo, and canter with no problems. I was also jumping and doing pole bending and barrels. Sry guys for posting this i'm just so happy.
Oh i got good news on my horse Napoleon. The that i won at the nationals. His trainer is going to let me start to train him under his supervision AND he thinks he is going to be at least GOOD pleasure. He sounds like he's going to be my best horse i've had

I think that's great! Maybe Indio just needed a "break" from the serious side of things?
I remember when I 'retired' my aged Appy because he was begining to stumble. He was only about age 22 at the time. He was very unhappy, and after about 7 months I took him out again and I could see how delighted he was so I took him out of retirement and rode him nearly every day. When he got back into shape he didn't stumble at all and we were able to ride regularly until age 29.
Is Napoleon being trained by Shaw? How about some pics?

yes Napoleon has been at Shaw's for about a month but before he went and picked him up he told me that i could start training him in about a month so i could start getting the hang of training. i'll try to get some pics up in a litte while i have to load them first. I don't have any really recent pic of him at least since october

That's great! Yeah sometimes horses just need a break. I swear, once I went on vacation for a week, I left my friend with my horse to ride once in a while. I came back and he was just behaving perfect, and I got told that with her he was being really dumb and not listening...Horses are weird creatures sometimes :D

Boy, they do have their "angel" days and "devil" days don't they?
Glad today was a good day for you two. 8-)

Hey
thats great! It is always good to hear when someone who deserves it, horse does great! Maybe he just did not like the pressure brought by showing? Alot of horses get like that. He sounds like a good boy who just wants to crawl into your lap..lol great job! ;-) :D
