Well, since you've all been clamoring for them, here are some pics from the whale watch we went on out of Newburyport, MA.
Here is the building where we bought out tickets from. Cool paint job, eh? You can see hubby standing in front, he had the nads to wear a Jets sweatshirt in the heart of Patriots country. He was not harmed, but got some looks from the locals. He almost wore his Yankees baseball cap, but at the last minute decided not to as it might get him kilt.

Here is the boat that took us out to Jeffrey's Bank in Maine, where the whales were feeding. It was called the "Prince of Whales". I kick myself for forgetting to ask how long the boat was, you will understand why in a minute.

As you can see, the weather was not the best for taking pictures. It was kind of cold, but did not rain, and the sea was not rough.

This was a really neat ship, I wish we had taken the time to tour it. It was called "Friendship of Salem."

Bored, yet? Wanna see some whales?
My first, and by far the best, picture of a finback whale. These things are the second largest whale, and get to be over 80 feet. Check out the size of the whale compared to the boat. The fin is on the last third of the whale's body.

Another shot. Finbacks are a lot harder to photograph than Humpbacks. They don't do any of the acrobatics that Humpbacks do, and dive deep, so once they are gone, they are gone for a while.

After a while, we moved on and were treated to an awesome sight. We surrounded by a pod of about 40 Atlantic White Sided Dophins. There were many cows with calves. I wish I had a conventional camera, the delay on my digital camera made me miss a lot of great shots.

Look at the colors on this dolphin. Cool, huh?

I did take some 10 second videos of the dolphins. I will try to post them soon.
