Looks like I need to get my winter clothes out. It has been raining here for the past week and is cold in the morning. I put down 10 acres of hay last week. It is no good now. I will have to chop it.
Boy, when it is cold like this that good hot morning coffee sure tastes good.
Guess it is time to get ready for winter. This is the first winter with my goats. Do they get a winter coat? What is the best way to keep them warm? I noticed they hate rain and cold weather. Right now I have them by my garage in a lean to where they can run in the back fenced in yard. We sure had alot of fun with them this summer. I was thinking about taking them down to the barn and putting them into a stall for the winter. Filling the stall up with alot of straw. Michigan really gets cold and this would probably be the warmest place. Do I need to get them goat coats?
With all of this rain I had some time to spend with my girls and boys. I got to untangled and brushed down a few of them. They loved it. I put new batteries in my camera so I will try and get some pictures and post them.
It is cold and rainy again today. I have 3 more horses to brush out. I am trying to just run my fingers thru the pasos mane to untangle them. They were so knotted. I think I have lost all of my finger nails yesterday doing there manes. Today my fingers should go through the mane easy. It sure makes you feel good to see them looking so pretty and happy.
I put up 140 round bales for the horses and 300 square bales for the goats and Stars pony. With the pony now gone I will have some extra. Hopefully I am good for the winter. I sure love to see my barn full of hay.
Well, Monday thru Firday I am by myself up here at the farm so quess I needed someone to talk to this morning while having my coffee. You all have a great day.
