So, you remember my description of the inaugural Western Canadian Paso Fino Friends Get Together & Trail Ride?
And you remember me saying my hubby rode in the afternoon and really enjoyed the trails of "The Blackfoot"?
And you remember that The Blackfoot trails are very close to where Rose lives?
And, of course, you all know that Rose and I are tight, right?
So, last night David and I made an offer on a half section farm about 4 miles from Rose's house ... and 3 miles from The Blackfoot! I am so excited I can't sleep! Not only will I be close enough that Rose and I can ride together all the time, but it's an EXCELLENT place for our cattle and sheep operation.
Cross your fingers for us, because it ain't a slam-dunk. The sellers have to agree to it and then we HAVE to sell some land over here because otherwise the new place is just waaaaaaaay too expensive! (Fortunately, our land is ripe for a developer to come in and turn it into a mess of 1 or 2-acre lots for city folks. We overlook the largest lake in the vicinity of Edmonton, the capital of Alberta, and we're a mere 45 minutes from the west end of the city.)

Yes Good Luck Jane...that would be TOO AWESOME. It really does help your riding frequency to have someone to ride with.
Enjoy!

I'm just thrilled at the idea of you being near your close friend! It would be wonderful if you could go riding together more often. I certainly hope and pray, that all goes well for you!

I am so exited I can hardy sleep. Praying it all works out. LOL I'll bet when Jane first came to buy a horse from me she never thought it would end up costing her this much money!
David may never let me take Jane out for a drive again. Especially not since we found this land for sale south of my place. I think he may be thinking that ours has become a very expensive friendship! (rolling my eyes and blushing) Yikes!
But honestly I can not wait!
Oh man... if Jane moves here our husbands will never find either of us at home.
Corto on people!!!

:rofl I can see you two - riding off into the sunset - and the guys wondering what's for supper :question
So , BIG question - do your husbands have anything in common ?
Hope you get that place ! :D

*roflmao* Monty, you cannot believe how completely opposite they are! They have absolutely nothing in common. Nothing at all. But then, THEY don't have to be best buds. Rose and I have that covered.
Rose's Lorne can tinker with his engines and my David can do his lawyer-y thing while Rose and I corto on!
This is sooooo exciting! Now to see if we can sell some property over here!

Jodi, my hubby is the best. The ABSOLUTE best. I cannot extoll his virtues enough. He's one of those special kind of guys who will do anything for his woman.
When I first brought up the idea of moving (not mentioning the place that is so conveniently close to Rose), he said that was okay with him, but he didn't want to leave the community we're in now. Hmmmm...had to work on that, but he's come around beautifully ...
and now he's referring to the place we have an offer on as "the new place".
Yay, hubby!

Oh, cool! Sounds like you have a gem, Jane! As for the men being opposites, they may complement each other.

Good luck on your venture Jane...I hope you get it...it would be great to have a neighbor like Rose Mary...and just think of all the horse experience you can draw from and learn!! Not to mention all those pretty young horsies to watch!

Weeeeeeell, Terry ... now that you mention it, there's a young sorrel fellow with flaxen mane and tail that I'm watching over there. *one eyebrow wagging madly*
I'm thinking he might be perfect "stepping horse" material for hubby!
