Any body miss me? feel like I haven't posted in days. The last week has been crazy. Spent friday at the fair, Saturday bathing horses and cleaning tack for the show, sunday was the show and yesterday I drove my oldest back to college in New Haven (I'll just let you all assume she goes to Yale). On the way home I managed to break the rim of my tire on a curve (don't ask). Today was back to school shopping at the (ewwwww) Mall. Talk about last minute, school starts tomorrow. But the good news is I get my car, my horse and my computer back from certain kids that think these things are all theirs. Any way I took 3 horses and a group of kids to a 4H show on sunday and her are some pictures:
This is the group of "regular" kids who ride with me. On the red qrt horse, Prince, is Andrea (age 11), The gray 1/2 paso, Mikka, is Lauren (also 11) and Chrissy my 14 yr old daughter is on Rio.

Here are some pictures of Chrissy showing Rio in Jr Horsemanship. As you can see, she took the red:

We ended the day in a costume class. Chrissy is on Rio, my son David (7) and I walked. Lauren and Mikka were fairy princesses

All and all it was a great day. Lauren got a 2nd in trail class on Mikka (there were 14 kids in that class!) Even David got a 2nd in a lead line class and one more of my barn rats showed up at the last minute and took blue on Mikka in a spectator walk trot class (beating the 4h leader).
Okay, I am definitely ready for school to start again!

Aw Terri! The kids and horses look GREAT! And what a beautiful arena to have a show in!! I'd love one just like it!

That is great on the Trail Class! That is a hard class and shows a great relationship between horse nad rider - and she did it one of those HOT LITTLE PASOS too! LOL

Great.

Thanks Carol, Mikka is not exactly a "hot" little paso, but we love her. She is reliable and fun to ride.

Hey Barb, I noticed you vanished too! What did they do without us? But I particularly wanted to point out to you that EVERYBODY was wearing a helmet! Even in the costume class. In fact I watched the show manager make someone (an adult!) dismount because she did not have a helmet on. The rider was an experienced western show-type person who was just sitting on her horse outside of the show ring. I'm sure she was embarassed.

T....that is so great!!! You are so good to truck all those kids & horses out all the time, so they can have great memories for years to come. That was the place in Marion...?.....it looks NICE. Now I wish I went, instead of trail riding that ended in a horse emergency  (my friend's horse...not mine....phew).....
The costume pics are adorable!!! Did they take long to put together....it looks like it did....

Now, about this trail ride in the State Forest this weekend, you speak of...???

Thanks for sharing! And I did miss all of you!

I admire someone who can take all them horses and kids and enter so many classes! I would be exhausted and stressed if it was just me with ONE horse!! Congratulations and take a nap today!!
