View Full Version : Triva Game anyone?
Pasogirlz
07-14-2005, 02:00 AM
Ok, let's have some fun. :D
Lets have a game where the first person (me) asks a paso related question, and then next person answers it, and gets to ask the next question, and so on.
First question..any easy one.
1.) What do you call the fastest 4 beat gait of a paso fino?
~ll*michelle*ll~
07-14-2005, 02:43 AM
paso largo
ummmmm i dunno ill give my question to anyone who wants it
That all depends on what you mean by fast beause it could be fino if you are talking about fastest footfall.
I'll take it just to keep the game moving. lol
What do you get if you breed a cremello to a chestnut?
Pasogirlz
07-14-2005, 01:48 PM
So true Batman...I should have said something about the most extension. :D
That is a tough question. I will have to consult with www.equinecolor.com and get back to ya. But I would guess a palomino?
Yup thats the answer. your turn to make a question.
Pasogirlz
07-14-2005, 02:14 PM
ok. ummmm...
T or F
A horse cannot be excused from a class for tail swishing.
riomyfriend
07-14-2005, 04:25 PM
T
um how bout who is the paso fino model for bryer?
That is false isn't it? If it swishes to much you can get thrown out can't you?
Ok I'm gonna guess...Monarca De Besilu?
Pasogirlz
07-15-2005, 02:36 AM
I think it is F too...maybe it is different in different associations.
El Pastor is a Bryer model for Paso finos. :D
Heidi
07-15-2005, 03:08 AM
Doesn't Breyer also have a Paso Fino model called Cips? A pinto?
Heidi
I've collected Breyers since 1974 and have over 250. I can't stop.
~ll*michelle*ll~
07-15-2005, 04:00 AM
ok pasogirlz/admin its ur turn to make a question........i think........
Pasogirlz
07-15-2005, 04:02 AM
ok, this is my 3rd...I'm running out of questions. lol
Who is the famous horse that sired Capuchino?
~ll*michelle*ll~
07-15-2005, 04:05 AM
RESORTE CUARTO !!!! i think .........
~ll*michelle*ll~
07-15-2005, 04:07 AM
thats the second time i answer
but i dont know wat to ask soooo someone take the question
Pasogirlz
07-15-2005, 04:09 AM
I'm sure you can think of something Michelle... 8-)
You are right, Resorte IV is the sire of Capuchino.
Who was the breeder of Capuchino?
~ll*michelle*ll~
07-15-2005, 04:18 AM
i have no clue ill be back i have to go do some research
im thinking of who it is but i dont want to say it if im not sure so ill be back in a little while.....
Pasogirlz
07-15-2005, 04:21 AM
Finally making you think...at least for a second. lol. 8-)
PasoPerson38
07-15-2005, 06:08 PM
UM.....Fabio Ochoa?
I don't know how to spell it but sounds good to me!
OK
What foundation sire had an X branded on his shoulder, he is said to of killed people? A hint! he was white and his pfha number is ONE.
Pasogirlz
07-15-2005, 06:10 PM
PasoPerson38 - That is a tough one. I will have to research it. Great question.
And you are right..Fabio Ocho was the breeder of Capuchino. 8-)
PasoPerson38
07-17-2005, 07:49 PM
Would you like me to give you the answer?
lol come on guys this game has potential! :!:
Pasogirlz
07-17-2005, 08:05 PM
Yeah! Tell us, and then ask another question...
PasoPerson38
07-17-2005, 08:39 PM
LOL ok.....
the answer is......Mar de Plata LaCE :!: :!: :!: :D
( see a pic. on pasoregistry.com)
ok another question.......
What FINO STALLION was a son of capuchino, said to be the quickest fino horse ever, but never won much becuase he had so much brio he would blow up in the show ring. He also is known for having slightly loco babies... :D ;-) :!: :?:
Pasogirlz
07-17-2005, 08:50 PM
Another tough one!
I can only think of Capuchino offspring who HAVE been in the show ring. (I've heard all Capuchino offspring are a little tweaky)
But I'm going to guess and say Joyero I? But I really have no idea. :-?
PasoPerson38
07-17-2005, 09:13 PM
nope....
~ll*michelle*ll~
07-20-2005, 01:39 AM

Pasogirlz
07-20-2005, 02:18 AM

07-20-2005, 02:29 AM
Tormento de Capuchino??? Impetuoso del Ocho???/ Bolivar de Sol Rey??? Expresso???
Heidi
07-20-2005, 02:52 AM
I wanna know the story of Mar De Plata killing someone!
Well i think the answer to the question is Capitan but im sure he competed some?
srjames9
07-20-2005, 03:14 AM
Capitan has in fact been very competitive in the show ring as I understand it.
Fino1
07-20-2005, 03:58 AM
"What FINO STALLION was a son of capuchino, said to be the quickest fino horse ever, but never won much becuase he had so much brio he would blow up in the show ring. He also is known for having slightly loco babies".
Impetuoso del Ocho
Okay.........here's my question.......
What year had NO "Grand" National Show??? (only called a "National Show")
Judy
Kerry W
07-20-2005, 11:33 PM
~~uncle~~
thats going to be hard to find out
El Indio Elegante
07-21-2005, 05:08 AM
was it 1973? The first show. I have the schedule from that year and it says grand championship
national show on it
Fino1
07-21-2005, 04:35 PM
Okay..........I'm about to post the answer to my "Show Question" BUT what's the correct answer to the "other question about the FINO stallion? I wanna know IF I was right first. Tee........Hee........
Judy
Fino1
07-21-2005, 04:42 PM
Okay........okay........Kerry has presurred me in posting the answer to my question............
Here is the answer........Now someone please tell me if I had the right answer to the other question..........
http://www.geocities.com/gracewoodpasos/scrapbook/images/viajeroLG.jpg
And yes, that is LynnG on Viajero Hermoso, a PPR! He was my VERY first Paso. What a doll he was!
Judy
PasoPerson38
07-21-2005, 06:00 PM
For all you who said capitan you are correct.
Yes indeed he was shown but he never placed to well because he would blow up so much. And he is said to have the fastest feet.....ever.
Alright where's that next question?!
Pasogirlz
07-21-2005, 06:11 PM
Well, I was gonna say Capitan, but I knew he showed...
woo hoo I guess that would be me lol
which great old stallion from colombia never made the hight to compete in other words wasnt big enough to compete?
PasoPerson38
07-21-2005, 08:21 PM
I know!!!!!!!!!!!
222!!!!!
I heard that he got his feet shoed the day of the compitition and he turned up to short.
that would be a bummer!
srjames9
07-21-2005, 09:25 PM
Caribe....!!!!
Nope im talking about OLD. great reproducer, one of the best out of a stallion that starts with a D , hes in rescates pedigree. no more hints lol
srjames9
07-21-2005, 10:42 PM
Desvelo had a son called Cerezo but just so you know Caribe and Desvelo existed about the same time frame and I will double check but I think Caribe existed before Desvelo and Cerezo.
Cheers,
James
Desvelo (1953) is 2 years older than Caribe (1955) and Cerezo is Desvelo's son which was born in the year of 1964. Caribe only lasted 17 years while Desvelo lasted 25 years.
sorry for the confusion.
and Cerezo is the answer
srjames9
07-21-2005, 11:06 PM
Ok so I got it right and I guess it is my turn. So here is my question:
What kind of a breeding does vitral represent?
This should be an easy one.
Cheers,
James
its a line breeding of the resorte line.
srjames9
07-21-2005, 11:26 PM
Yes but I am looking for the what. Hint different types of line breeding strategies.
Cheers,
james
Im guessing its because of rescate on both sides of his pedigree
srjames9
07-22-2005, 12:04 AM
Yes Rescate is on both sides but what kind of line breeding created Vitral?
Cheers,
james
you got me there I dont know what to say! im not the well informed on the strategies of inbreeding and line breeding yet but i know alot for a 16 year old lol
srjames9
07-22-2005, 04:09 AM
Nito:
Yes you do know quite a bit, congrats on that!!!! Ok there are three kinds of breedings: close breeding, linebreeding, and the outcross.
Close breeding is brother to sister, father to daughter, mother to son
Linebreeding is half brother to half sister; gfather to gdaughter; gmother to gson; uncle to niece; aunt to nephew; and first cousins.
outcross is one family to another with potentially no blood mix.
So now that I have given you this huge clues, can you now answer my question? Please let me know.
Cheers,
James
I would say its rescate's son with rescate's grand daughter
son with grand daughter?
~ll*michelle*ll~
07-22-2005, 07:12 AM
this is 4 the capitan ques.... well actually capitan has done really well in the classes he has competed in and after all he did get 2nd place in the nationals fino stallions class a couple yrs ago...................im jus' sayin' :D
PasoPerson38
07-22-2005, 03:32 PM
I am confused! Did anyone get James's question right yet?
lol but this is fun.
Yes capitan was outstanding, but he never became a champion did he?
I ment that he never did as good as he could of done......sort of like his mind could not keep up with his finoing feet. (lol is finoing a word  :D).
But I truely believe he has the fastest feet in the world.
Is it linebreeding or close breeding?
PasoPerson38
07-22-2005, 05:14 PM
Linebreeding!
DSDECKERT
07-22-2005, 06:21 PM
Wasn't Vitral also on the loco side? and have somewhat crazy babies? At least from what I've heard that is! That would have been my guess.
Cant be vitral because vitral was a international champion he did A LOT of competing
LynnG
07-23-2005, 12:21 AM
I believe Capitan got 3rd in Classic Fino Stallions at the 1999 PFHA Nationals if my memory is right from being there. He would step out in the rear now and then not keeping correct rhythm. I don't remember who won 1st or 2nd that year, but I did remember Capitan's memorable performance in the class. I was cheering for for him.
srjames9
07-23-2005, 05:20 AM
Nito:
Here is the answer... it is uncle to niece. So yes it is a Rescate son to a rescate gdaughter however it is expressed as I stated.
Ask your question!!!!!
Cheers,
james
alright then!
this one might be easy
Who was the 2001 world champion?
srjames9
07-24-2005, 03:02 AM
Sonajero de La Esmeralda, I think
yupp Sonajero de La Esmeralda
HE was a great stallion Fuera De Concurso in puerto rico
then died at a young age only leaving behind a small amount of offsprings which i own one ( esperanza de america ) which is really good what a shame he had to die.
so its your turn james!
srjames9
07-24-2005, 03:33 AM
What is la Venus father's name? Hint was the mare that started all.
James
El Indio Elegante
07-24-2005, 04:34 AM
was it eblis?
srjames9
07-24-2005, 12:36 PM
No it was not elbis. Elbis is much more recent than this. But please take another guess.
Cheers,
James
Brigitte
07-24-2005, 02:35 PM
Is it Tormento?
El Indio Elegante
07-24-2005, 02:39 PM
tormento?
PasoPerson38
07-24-2005, 05:10 PM
Yep Yep I agree...can it be Tormento??!!
El Indio Elegante
07-24-2005, 05:19 PM
the original La Venus her sire isn't listed ( might not even be regsistered) on Paso registry so i have no clue.
paso chikkaaaa.
07-24-2005, 08:57 PM
next question
srjames9
07-24-2005, 09:09 PM
The answer is not Tormento. Do you want the answer??? Let me know.
Cheers,
James
http://www.creatingonline.com/online_image_editor/images/la%20venus.jpg
thats the pedigree for la venus on the old pfha cd so It should be tormento
srjames9
07-24-2005, 09:13 PM
The Venus I am referring was born on or about 1918 so that is not the right horse.
Sorry Alex.
James
What is la Venus father's name? Hint was the mare that started all.
James
How can her father be the mare that started it all?
paso chikkaaaa.
07-24-2005, 09:18 PM
do somphin else
srjames9
07-24-2005, 09:19 PM
Perhaps my english was not the greatest ..... thanks for pointing it out Alex!!!
The questions is What was La Venus' father's name? The hint: La Venus is the mare that started the paso fino as we know it today.
So what I am looking for is what is her sire's name?
Is that better?
Please let me know.
Now you have two hints: It is a horse born around 1918 and she is the mother of the paso finos from Colombia.
Here is the last hint I am going to give. All resorte horses go back to her.
Cheers,
James
well in ochoas book the pedigree of venus is blank...

srjames9
07-25-2005, 05:57 PM

07-26-2005, 09:18 AM
How about Revuelo? I have a pedigree of a colombian stallion (Dilema del 8) where Venus is listed sired by Revuelo out of a mare called Castana :?: .
srjames9
07-26-2005, 09:14 PM
No conni it was not revuelo.
Cheers,
james
Is this one of those questions that has no answer?

Name the six mares that were produced by Favorita, with whom and what type of stallions they were?
Cheers,

P.S. This question is a walk in the park compared to the last one. I thought the ast one was obvious but I guess not.... sorry!

07-27-2005, 01:56 AM
Ok, that's like 12 questions after you find the sire of each :!:
Someone is going to have to get this one right so someone else can ask questions that more people can answer. lol
I could only find 3 on pasoregistry.
Ponderosa Comparsa (Cosmos)
Ponderosa Sinfonia (Cosmos)
Ponderosa Orquesta (Cosmos)

Stabbin here...in the darkness
By Rescate: Arrogancia, La Voragine
By Resorte IV: Bahia
By Impacto: Gaitana
By Sucesor: Sucesora
That's all I could find...is this the right Favorita? By the way...very funny on what type of stallion...that is another question in itself.
srjames9
07-27-2005, 02:30 AM
Kerry:
Yes that is the right favorita. But the daughters you listed are not all correct.
Cheers,

Kerry W
07-27-2005, 02:47 AM
Okay...well...I don't know what's what...hard to follow this stuff when it's written down helter skelter..poor note taker :-? ...so La Espiga? Is that one? Not sure of sire.
Which did I have wrong?
srjames9
07-27-2005, 02:51 AM
Yes la Espiga is correct. Who is her sire? And you are missing one more.

07-27-2005, 02:54 AM
Guarapa..by Bochica????..still looking!
Hey...if I spelled any wrong..not my fault!! I'm having fun looking them up. :D

Palomito de andes is LA GAVIOTAS father not VENUS !
srjames9
07-27-2005, 02:57 AM
Nito:
Keep reading it is in there.
James
i read from resorte primero to la venus y sus decidientes TWICE and the only time they mentioned horses from Andes is one paragraph!
what page is it on?
srjames9
07-27-2005, 03:02 AM
Ok kerry:
You have the stallions, the mares with an extra one in there. Which one does not belong there? And what is special about the fathers? Or should I ask the question better ..... What is special about the "andar" - huge hint!!!!
Cheers,
James
srjames9
07-27-2005, 03:03 AM
I can't tell you what page because my books are in NJ and I am in Toronto. Sorry but I will find the page next time I go to NJ and lete you know.

07-27-2005, 03:03 AM
You sure Congo wasn't Venus' daddy???
srjames9
07-27-2005, 03:05 AM
I am sure. I studied this stuff for over six months and called Colombia several times to get information and get clarification from some old time breeders.
Cheeers,
James
Kerry W
07-27-2005, 03:06 AM
Is La Voragine the extra...a daughter of one of these mares?? Not sure about your hint...they're all del Ocho mares...I think...I'm so confused now!! Well...MORE confused now...
srjames9
07-27-2005, 03:08 AM
thats right ... la voragine is the daughter of Gaitana del Ocho. And for more Andar means way of going .... come on now .... you're almost there.
James
srjames9
07-27-2005, 03:10 AM

They are not all fino. Which ones are and which ones aren't?
Cheers,
James
Now does this have to do with the "andar" thing, or is it a different question? And yes, I may be stalling for time...or narrowing down my research possibilities..but this was a killer question...and you know it!
srjames9
07-27-2005, 03:35 PM
Yes I know you're stalling for time but it is not a new question. It was part of the original, I am just giving you more tips on how to solve it and get the answer. Andar means way of going which is gait. And that makes a type of horse such as when you say a Qh is a type of horse. Does that make sense?
Cheers,
James
P.S. I know I am pushing the envelope but that is where we find the best information while making fun for everyone. I hope everyone can appreciate my attempt at transferring knowledge that normally is hard to find.
JD
Pasogirlz
07-27-2005, 03:37 PM
Well how about explaining Andar better. I have never heard of this. Got any articles handy?
Kerry W
07-27-2005, 03:57 PM
As in TyG, Trocha, Trocha Galope, Paso Fino?
I guess Paso Fino.
Yeah Kerry andar is the gait of the horse.. (TyG, Trocha ,Fino , performance, etc )
so the question is now which one is fino and which one isnt fino
srjames9
07-27-2005, 05:12 PM
Yes like TyG etc.
And no kerry not all are paso fino. Which ones?
Cheers,
James
La favorita II
Sucesor - Sucesora -Fino
Bohchica - La guarapa - didnt find
Resorte IV- La Espiga - didnt find
Impacto II- La Gaitana- trocha or paso fino
Resorte IV- La Bahia-fino
Rescate - La Arrogancia- fino
Piropo- Favorito - Trocha
Kerry W
07-27-2005, 06:41 PM
 No clue...considering the fact that Resorte IV's mommy was a trochador...that one is debatable. I found the mares, someone else will have to stick their neck out on the Andar thang! :D
srjames9
07-27-2005, 06:46 PM
Do ya want the answer?????
Pasogirlz
07-27-2005, 07:07 PM
God Bless America....YES we want the answer. Stop the torture. lol
Kerry W
07-27-2005, 07:14 PM
One more guess..then give the answer...PLEASE!!
Sucesor TyG
Piropo Trocha
The rest Paso Fino
piropo was trocha
bochica - fino
resorte iv- fino
impacto II-fino
rescate- fino
sucesor era troton

Insolito de la luisa and tormento de la virginia are both out of Patrimonio del ocho and both are world champions.
Tormento de la virigina - 2003 world cup champion
Insolito de La Luisa - 1997 world cup champion
And Tormento has been declared fuera de concurso this year in the month of April.
Here is the list of world cup champions
93 Profeta de Besilu (Nevado X Profetiza)
95 Simbolo de Besilu (Monarca X Capuchina de Besilu)
97 Insolito de La Luisa (Patrimonio X Gambeta de Lusitania) F.C. 2001
99 Vitral (Terremoto de Manizales X Teoria)
01 Sonajero de La Esmeralda (Capuchino X Emeraude)
03 Tormento de La Virginia (Patrimonio X Tormenta del Desierto)F.C. 2005
So the answer is Patrimonio del Ocho.

Christobalito, the Calypso Colt. It was a TV movie.
"Chago is an orphaned youth in Puerto Rico, who is supporting himself as a fruit vendor. When he's offered a job as stable boy for a wealthy rancher, he gladly accepts and moves to the ranch. There, he meets Cristobalito, a Paso Fino Palomino who is a descendant of the horses ridden by the Spanish Conquistadors. "

Juan Carlos thought my question had been answered, but it had not. There were two questions at the same time...see page 14 of the thread.
