Okay, I'm not really a baseball fan. BUT my sister's boyfriend (Rafael Soriano) was hurt pretty bad during Monday night's game between the Mariners and the Angels. He is the Mariner's relief pitcher and was hit in the head by a line drive....

I talked to my sister last night and they were getting ready to release him. Poor girl, she spent the night in the hospital outside of ICU and they wouldn't let her in because she's not family (the Mariner's gen manager finally pulled some strings....). Gee, all his 'family' lives in the Dominican Republic
Please keep him in your prayers.

Head injuries are nothing to take lightly. I hope he makes a speedy full recovery.

I hope that he is doing better. Those line drives are scary. One of the red sox pitchers caught one last year in the head. It was so scary to watch. I didn't think he'd get up. But he's fine now. Tell your sister our prayers are with her and her man.

Why don't pitchers wear helmets? :question

Because it ain't macho. Or sexy. That's why.

Because this sort of thing rarely happens.

Should the birds wear a helmet just in case Randy Johnson is pitching?
(He killed one with a pitch last year)

I talked to my sis last night. It was her b-day on Saturday and Rafael got her 2 dozen roses and a gold/diamond necklace. He is supposed to be taking it easy and still has headaches. I think he has a doc appt today. His mom was flying in late last night to stay with him and cook some of that good dominican spanish food! Sis is very worried about meeting her as Rafael says she doesn't like our culture here in America. I told her to just be herself and she'll like her just fine.

Hope everything goes okay!
