Yesterday I rode Q with the trainer and she urinated three times in an hour. I thought that was odd...
The first time, she stopped to urinate as I led her to the arena before we began riding.
Normal amount, color and smell.
The second time was in the arena about 20 minutes later. She kept wanting to slow down and halt, so I let her and she straddled and pee'd a little bit. Trainer said she was not 'winking' (this year she came in season about the 30th of the month) and I made sure to lean forward and up off her back.
The third time was about 20-30 minutes after the 2nd time, as we were riding around the perimeter of the pasture. Same thing, kept wanting to slow down and halt. When I let her stop, she again pee'd a little amount.
Is this a sign of a urinary tract infection? Is there an odor/color I need to look for? Other signs?
She has been behaving normaly, no changes in her regimen...however to get her to eat her TriHist the trainer had been pouring a little sorghum syrup over her pellets to get the TriHist to stick. She stopped using sorghum and is now using water as of last night.
Temp/respirations/gut sounds all normal.
Does TriHist act like a diuretic?
Trainer did yard work today and kept an eye on Q and didn't notice any frequent urination. She would go pee and then not pee again until much later. No 3x/hour.

PS...horse trainer was riding is Q's "boyfriend"...
