1. The "ebay" auction thing is where you get to write in your bid for a stallion during the Nationals using $25 increments. So, instead of taking your chances of being outbid by the old method of sending in checks, you can find out if someone bid over you and bid again. That sure beats outbidding yourself using the older method.

2. The opportunity to bid for stallions after the cutoff date still holds. For stallions that are still available, it's first come, first served until March 1, 2007. At least half the stallion fee or $500, whichever is most, gets the stallion.

3. Stallion owners still have an opportunity to buy back their nominations as before.

I'm much happier to know this. I found out about some of this by picking up the stallion catalog and by asking anyone hanging around the bidding table. I decided to stay blissfully ignorant of what the contracts looked like. I almost looked.

Now, if there was a way to get the stallion catalog out sooner and distributed with a larger printed format, I would be in paso mare owner heaven...oh, and get photos for all stallions, and the pedigrees, and all the winning stats and their offspring, and alleviate the add-ons and...get the list on pfha.org to agree with the list in PFHW...and....
