Cas is back home again - Today wires were removed from his mouth - I would have liked to see more calcifation but it is stable..... the leg is fusing so we are now in a support wrap and no soft cast, hand walking 5-10 mins a day if tolarated, ulcer is doing great on tendon and he was welcomed by everyone there. He was a great trooper again - local sedation to remove the wires and did not fuss about the Xrays or the bandages. One just has to love a horse that knows we are working to help him.... what I kept hearing from Dr. Eddy to the students was "Don't try this with any other horse - you will loose your fingers. They took the wires out without using the mouth speculum or block. She has her face and hands inside his mouth (practically speaking) - they watched me wrap his leg and the first thing I said was "Don't do what I'm fixing to do - you'll get killed as a vet" - crawled right under him and wrapped his leg..... I just love him! Sorry, I do not have any new Xrays to show you - they did not print any off for me this time - had too many emergency cases come in. We'll go back in 30 days for Xrays - maybe then I can get more to show.
