Every since the PFHA 'powers that be' _told_ PFHA judges that 'speed will be penalized', the largo has gone from an exciting part of the Paso Fino show ring to a 2nd rate gait - to those with a particular mindset. I want _nothing_ to do with the _true extended_ largo gait being regulated by PFHA. When you add points, you cost potential participants (which PFHA needs more than they need PFHA) a lot of money for very little potential gain. I won't even get into an argument about whether or not current show-breds are allowed to or even have an extended largo.... if you weren't in the breed prior to 1980-1981, you've very likely never seen an extended largo in the showring.

I really dislike the terms 'tight and quick' and what it has done to the Performance and PLeasure - even Country Pleasure classes.... Does that mean I don't appreciate a well-balanced Paso - of course not, but it shouldn't be collected with 24/7 hobbles so short a horse can't even lay down to rest or at the expense of the other end of the spectrum.... a horse correctly balanced for forward speed.... the traveling gait...

Pointed classes are expensive, stressful and really not fun. Perhaps in the future there can be a type of class that features the "big largo horses" but not the race. A fast largo horse class which would ask for flat walk, corto and TRAIL largo.

Exhibition.
I feel it would be too difficult to award points just because someone crossed the finish lines 1-2-3. This really isn't a "judged" class and as such I do not feel it deserves to be pointed.
Would like to see some awards, either monies or other items, awarded to the top 3.
