I know that flax seed is good for a nice coat, but can it help with...
-weight
-hooves
-joints (arthritis)

I believe it is also supposed to be beneficial for horses who have trouble with bug bite reactions.

where do you get flax seed at? Someone just recommended it to me for my horses hooves. 4 oz whole flax seed and 4 oz Foxden Linpro daily. thanks SHerry in MO

You should be able to get the flax seed at your feed store. That's where we get ours... :D

You can purchase it at the local feed store...really cheap too! Like 5 pounds for $3.50.
I have heard u are supposed to ground it...(a common argument among equestrians)...whether to feed it whole or ground.
Also how much are you supposed to feed daily?

I stick a couple of flax seed gel caps, bought at walmart, in their food. I heard they were a good anti-oxident.
