Ok, so I know it happens, but I didnt want this to happen to me, I am going to break down. If you read it all, bless you!!

1st off, was planning a fun ride w/a board buddy whom I had never met this past saturday. Our last ride of the season because the trails in MN close Nov 1st..

-woke up tired and cranky, but hey I was going trail ridin!

-Little sis was being brain dead zombie, not listening when I told her what to pack, not packing our usual food for the trail ride( which she had dont a million times), so of cource I had to do it all.. ok that isnt so bad but it would have been easier if she just did what she knew to do..

-Get to the horses, they load good!! yyiippee

-Start to move out, asked little sis, did you remember the hay and water? NO, ok turn around she draggs butt to get it, I end up jumping out of the truck to AGAIN do it myself..

-Get on the road, ask her did you remember the paper plates and paper towels from home?? NO, crap, exit off to go to target..

-The parking lot has a big dip in it, so I take it a little to the side, all of a sudden the trailer is pulling VERY strange. Kysa runs in the store, I get out..

Oh no, front set of axcels and tires look like they are going to snap off!! I bent my sprackets and axel going over that dip!!!! This is the same trailer I have been trying to sell for 2months. sucks

AM I going to make it home? Ok fleet farm is 1 mile away, I crawl there w/the trailer, they have NO CLUE what to do, says I SHOULD make it home.. Great..

Drive home, and made it, thank god! Unlaod horses.. Talk to barn owner and vent to her, call my usual repair shop. CLOSED of cource.

Drive it to the shop and left it their...

Then descided I needed to eat out. Old Country Buffet here we come.

Get their, end up next to the dish stations, stinks, try to move but it is packed. Then they roll out this gross dirty dish tray thing, leave it right next to me!! OH NO, I said, move that outta here. So of course by this time I am the B**** of the year..

I go home.

I swear over night my face exploded w/Acne. I am not talkin about the little ones, I am talkin about the volvcano acne that HURTS!!

So I sit home do nothing watch movies, then my lights burn out in my Room!! AHHHHH

Go up stairs to the guy I rent from, tell him. He says ok well look for one and goes back to his stuff.. 5hrs later no lights, go up again.. Oh we dont have any. I say ok, you going shopping or will I?

OH I will let you know he says, I said ASAP I hate the dark.. SO of course nothing is done, sunday goes by nothing no lights. I wake up this morning for work, told him again, I need lights. OH I dont know what size ect. OK WHY didnt he say this before. I cant get the grate off to see the size (these are florecent lights) I end up late for work, Cussing all the way..

I get to work today, Employee FAXES her call in to work. OMG, doesnt even try to call, just sends me a FAX saying she wont be in. OK, teller supervisor comes to me, say OH I forgot to tell you I have court this morn, will be back by noon, has to go. Another teller came in to cover. so I am ok..

I am dreafully await the call from the mechanic on my trailer, please god dont let the repair be over $200!

So would you guys think good thoughts for me today!! I need them.. :(

Okay, Pasofan ... now is the time you have to think of that homily about feeling bad about not having shoes 'til one meets a guy who has no feet!

Chin up.

It could have been worse. Your axle could have done at 60 mph on the highway. THEN you'd have been in a mess!

(Okay, if it doesn't help, don't shoot me! *grin*)

Well darnitall....

Did the springs break? Or what exactly happened to the trailer? You may end up taking it to a place that does spring work exclusively.

Did the spring bolts break?

Hard to say if $200 will cover it....probably depends on how much welding, etc.....

Good luck! Hoping things go your way today... ;-)

I guess the good news is you are strong enough to make a good story out of it. The bad news is, the story was non-fiction.... :(

Here's hoping for a teeny tiny repair bill!

I did bring it to a axel and spring place. . yes it is a older trailer early 80's model, but everything on that trailer is in good shape, I knew that one axel was old, but looked good.. Guess it wasnt..

Well I guess I should complain, being I have had a GREAT summer and had lots of good luck this yr. Guess it was just time for this to happen...

Thanks for all the hugs and thoughts, STILL waiting for the mechanic to call.. aaahhh, I am gonna call him..

Ah, what a sucky bunch of things to happen! Hope the trailer is cheap to fix. And like Jane said, at least it didn't happen on the highway!

Soltera, that horse in your avatar is a STUNNER!

So, what was the verdict on the trailer?

PASOFAN

Well mechanic says he cant find ANY thing wrong?!! What the heck. He says my 2 horse shouldnt cary 2 horses because the axels are small, this guys is nutz, I cant figure it out, 2 horse trailer w/axels not good enought to carry 2 horses?. He says axel looks great other than he thinks it is small..

I asked if he took the tires off to look at the spindels, NOPE, so he is off to do that, but says he looked it completely over and it looks good to him, gee should I bring my horses back to him loaded so he can see this bent tire thing?

So does ANYONE here have a 2 horse that when loaded the front set of tires bend? My guess is no..

And this mechanic is a specialist in axels and trailers, what is goin on?

So waiting for his call when he takes the tires off...

This SUCKS!

What do you mean by "the tires bend"? Do you mean they have excessive camber ..or caster? Are they wider apart at the top or bottom when horses are on the trailer? If you have camber or caster...it isn't the axle... it is the suspension...and he may not be able to see that with no weight in the trailer.... this CAN lead to axle wear...and an axle bearing breaking...were the wheels pulled of the trailer for a look?

Can you get us a photo of the suspension? Are there arms to each wheel?
is this a double or single axle trailer?

When we totally refurbished out 1974 Miley..in 2004...when it was 30 years old...it needed all new suspension parts. The old ones lost their strength, and were worn. You would not want to run a trailer with suspension problems because this will cause uneven hub wear and wear problems to the axle(s)....

The Miley also needed a new leaf added to the springs (which we had re-arched) so it would no longer sit so close to the axles when loaded with four horses....
The only way you could see that was to have horses in the trailer.

Can you get us some pics....? My husband is a whiz at figuring out what is needed to repair.... put horses in the trailer and get some pics...get pics of the suspension...if possible too.

Will do terry!

I have all new springs in it and leafs too. It is a 2 axel and it is the front set that is bending. I will take pics for you this weekend. Bearings are good, tires are good, back axel is fairly new, front set is older but still good.. Not sure what you mean by camber or caster??

Just talked to the mechanice again, he took the wheels off, cant see a darn thing wrong w/the spindel either, axel is not bent, nothing is on the axel, it is all good so he says..

The bending is hard to explain, but when I turn the truck and trailer the fron set of tires bend at the bottom of the tire that touches the ground..

I will get you pics. Going to pick it up after work, mechanic didnt charge me anything either, that is good. However I am still so concerned...
