We had a little scare today after Grace left Dusty out this morning at 6 AM. We couldn't find him all day. He has learned some habits that he does not change but today he did.

Usually when we go to the barn to feed horses Dusty, Tiger and Moose all go along. Today Dusty was no where to be seen.

Also if he is outside he always comes in around 2PM and crawls up in my recliner for his afternoon nap until one of us goes to the barn at 5 PM to feed horses. No show at 2 PM so I started looking for him. I went all over the property with Moose calling Dusty and praying I did not find him snake bit or worse. No Luck he was not to be found. Now we began to worry a bit. Naturally imagining the worst.

Well anyway around 4 PM Tiger started meowing at the door and there was Dusty wanting inside. Him, Tiger and Moose stayed close for awhile all together. Then Dusty ate some food and went to sleep in my recliner.

Just glad he was ok and back to normal.

We have for some reason this year an unusal number of coyotes and all I could think of is one got him. :(

But he's home and alive and well

Bob, he's a cat....they are sooooo independant.
I have two neutered tomcats and normally they stick close to home...but sometimes they disappear, and I like you run around calling and fretting because we too live in Coyote Alley...
And after I've fretted and cried and planned their funeral....here comes out of some hiding place either Smokey or Willie (yes, I know...I have Willie Nelson...and he is a redhead... ) and they stretch and yawn and say, "So...Mom, what's the problem????" ;-)

Thanks Carol I needed that. I was really worried about him because he never has done that before. Thanks again.

House cats live ALOT longer then indoor/outdoor cats...I would suggest keeping him in then..

While you are probably correct let me ask this. Have you ever tried to put a saddle on a rattlesnake with claws? LOL :D

Yes once they go out you are screwed...I have cats that are 15+ that have never been out and they have no desire..but once they get that taste..you know..

Sure glad you found him Bob. They can really worry you. But they really aren't very habitual. Other than sleeping and eating alot!!!
