Hi all,
Its a simple request .....
On your sales page if a horse has been sold over a month ago please remove it from sales page. Why do we have to scroll through many horses that have a sold post next to their picture/name? Is this to show that the farm does indeed sell horses?
Whatever the reason I find it easier to look at horses that are available. And also please provide an asking price so that time is not wasted when requesting information on a horse that is way out of the buyers price range.
Thank you much!
Mona

I only half agree. I like to see what's been sold. (Or is it just that I like looking at horses, so the more the merrier?)
But the bit about the price: I totally agree. What's the use of being tempted by champagne if all you can afford is beer?

I disagree because I like to see what has been sold. Many times the pasos sold are relatives to the ones still for sale, so you can compare conformation, etc. It does make it easier though if the sold horses are marked somehow, or in a category so can screen by them quickly if you don't want to look.

Speaking from the side of one who has a salepage and who does leave horses who have been sold on it for a short time...what do you think they would think of a farm who has the SAME horses on it day after day after day (I'm guilty of that on my foalsforsalepage... ) and NEVER sells a horse. I list my horses for sale and when they do sell, I put a big SOLD sign on the listing. That tells you that I am doing a business...I am TRYING to SELL horses and I AM selling them! I am not just a flunky out there trying to look like I'm playing the game.
Like today...how thrilling to be showing my mare to one group of lookers and have another group drive in to the yard...and both groups WANT the horse so bad they were drooling and praying the other family didn't buy her. Will either buy her...I sure can't predict the future, but if they do I surely will post a great big SOLD sign on her listing! ;-) :D

If farms would perhaps put all sold at the bottom of the page, or even a link for sold horses. But when the "for sale" and "sold" are peppered together I find it frustrating.
I have made some money in the past by finding the right horse for the right rider, most of the time I do it because those that are new to the breed might not always know where to look and I enjoy helping them out. So searching the sales pages is kinda like a hobby with a purpose for me - because you never know what you may find and who maybe looking for that something special.
Happy Saturday night!

I totally agree with Jane - through default , I have figured out which farms to pass up - because no prices or way too high a price for me !
I also hate it when there is a description, but no pic! :-?
Not that I will be getting another horse in the near future - if at all :(
Have 4 horses in backyard now and may have to move 2 more over here in spring

My biggest pet peeve is salepages with no prices listed on them. I buy horses and I pay decent prices for them. But I won't even inquire if there's not a price on the salepage.

I won't ask if there is no price either. I feel like if they think I might have money then they will ask an inflated price. Plus I feel if they really are motivated to sell a horse they will set a fair price for the horse.
